It's player vs player, so yes.

HTFU.

Yes it is PVP, albeit risk free pvp. Confirming the irony of nerdguy telling someone to HTFU.

PvP is combat between players and in suicide ganking there is no two way exchange, which is why I don't see it as PvP.

Player. Versus. Player.

Player #1 is fitted in a combat ship.
Player #2 is in a non tanked, mining hulk without an escort and mining AFK.

Just because the actual combat happens today, does not mean the decisions both players made that put them in that scenario was not a good example of player versus player interaction.

It's "Low Class" PvP.
No real risk, no ehonor, kind of like the trailer trash of combat pilots wanting to be one of the cool kids.

Nothing clever at this time.

Gank - for people that can't pvp, or pvn, player verses no-contest.

I don't care what you think, if you ever think at all.

Its PvP but its not a fight. There is a difference for those who've done both Blink

Ganking is PVP, but I think it's being horribly abused now by killing high sec miners in nonevent scenarios..

Suicide ganking is PvE. It's the best PvE in the game.

If it is PvP, CCP should organize an official ganking tournament on a yearly basis. Winners would be recognized as ...elite PvPers? NVM...bad idea.

Sure it is PvP. Is it real PvP? No.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

If you mean it isn't PvP because it wasn't a fair fight, no PvP in EVE is that. You undocked and jumped 3 systems over to get caught on a gate by a 30 man nano gang and 2 HIC bubbles. Even if you undocked with 3 or 4 buddies, it isn't like you had a snowballs chance in hell of winning. I've seen low sec Golem Kills. 6 guys killed it. He had a chance? A guy is ratting in a belt, in comes Falcon and Drake alt, scrammed, hjammed, he has any chance?

Winning PvP in EVE is decided in a fittings screen you look at before you even undock. After that it's a lottery short of the blue wall, blob mechanic we have all learned to build around our fleets. Is a Hulk a really stupid ship to have in EVE? Very much so. I dont know why anyone would undock in a Hulk in the current culture of EVE.

Sure, in the same way a sniper taking someone out from 500 yards is.

Whether or not the other person recognizes the threat beforehand, or has a chance after you've attacked, doesn't really make any difference.

But i will add that until hollywood made it look cool, snipers were considered to be cheap bastards.

Unless there's a player at the keyboard behind the target ship (almost never the case), it's actually PvE. It only becomes PvP after the gank when the AFK player returns.

Even though it's the lowest kind of PvP it remains PvP.

People undocking their ship should be prepared to lose it. If someone decides to not tank his or her ship then they made their own choice.
On the other hand there are those who suck at combat on even terms and as such have the need to pad their ego's some alternative way.

Miners are one of the easiest loot pinata's which, if propperly tackled, make you come out with a positive wallet at all times.

Well it's definitely the riskiest form of PVP. Put it this way, you have a 100% chance of losing your ship every time.
