Best Cloaky T3 Cruiser besides the Tengu?

I'm traing up for a cloaky T3 Strategic Cruiser in WH ops mostly. Any advice on which to train for (aside from Tengu)?

Provided that you have someone else doing the probing, a cloaky Proteus can do some serious damage (five neutrons with a 100k ehp tank and 14km scram... mmmm).

How did you Veterans start?

Armor Loki. Basically a Rapier with a 120k+ buffer. Throw some faction tackle mods on and have a ball.

Depends on the motive really, PVE or PVP. Clearly Tengu is god for PVE a legion can go well also if needed. Proteus is your ship for PVP.

But all do very well across the board.

I'll just say it like this:

That moment when you see a proteus un-cloak next to you at 3000m, that is the moment when you say out load "oh crap on balls....".

True, but not every ship warps in less than 5 sec, and its not like you instantly react. Most of the time it takes you a moment to realized what happened, and another to hit the warp.

And if you are not aligned, or the proteus is just at your way, he will lock and scram.

Proteus is by far the best cloaky T3.
Loki is second, then tengu, then a massive gap, then legion.

Oh I know. But it is still worth trying. I have had a noctis slip away because it was aligned and I didn't get a bump on it in time

and while we are on the subject there is a fit with 4 guns and more dps for your cloaky pleasure woot! (Did I mention a hell of a lot more utility?)

This Proteus has more cloak, drones, an actually usable capwar module but a bit less EHP (122K), which is however fully passive. Even lolmore dps :D (473 with CNAM)

Though the option is there with this fit to drop the web for an injector (hint: heavy ratter targets and Berseker SW = win)

and I would not choose the neutraliser when a probe launcher fits there nicely...

Yep, adjust to taste and gang requirements. I use mine for general cloaking around with a covops scout (no need for probes, and that is a NOS on my fit) and often a corpie in cloaky Tengu, and found the web+web drone very usable to hold down small, slippery targets. Which are actually all I've killed so far in the Prot :D

I don't really understand the proteus fits with bad dps here - a cloaky one easily pushes 700 and gets the kill + gets out before the target brings friends. 120K ehp is not going to help when any throw away ship can pin you down for the swarm to come.

EDIT: I should of course understand that they are used as gang tackle, silly me.

Bah fit what's the need? He posted the fit I told him to drop a turret for more dps.... In my country we say: "what goes 'miaow miaow' on the roof tiles?"

Bout that NOS I still personally favor the probe launc. but I commend the use of the Nos to try and mitigate the lack of injector while keeping the web. It is a good compromise...

About only having killed small slippery targets with it now that's proper wrong :P :P :P May I suggest using a probe launcher (sorry could't resist :P)
