Yes, it's real. The idea is that if you are willing to give up the isk and take that sort of risk, then you are not in fact a spy.

It's a relatively common practice for some 0.0 alliances.

Deposit might be a bit of a confusing term in this instance. I believe the fine print says that if you leave corp or are kicked you forfeit the deposit. In addition the corp will hold on to the deposit while you are in the corp. Catch-22.

Yes, it's real. It's also common practice among most nullsec corporations.

You'll get half back once you move some ships down there as collateral.

LOL while the other people here are happy to extract your tears, and well i am close to agreeing with them as you could have done a simple search of these forums and found that these goon scam topics happen daily.

But alas it is a scam and after that they will offer to move your assets out to their home via contract or trade and then when you finally click to having lost it all....they will ask you for more, but hey you decide and then join the others that fill these forums with stupid threads done with no research.

Don't listen to this guy. Goons charge fees to prove you can field the kind of stuff they want.

Look i'm almost inclined to side with you that if he managed to even find the eve forums and then didn't notice and use the search function that would net him pages of answers on the scams, then he may deserve what's about to happen.

It's perfectly fine. While the goons engage in asshatery that most people in EVE don't agree with, this isk deposit is standard.

Don't listen to the anti-Goon propaganda. They are legit.

I was a Goon for 3 months until I missed too many ops due to this condition known as a woman and I was asked nicely to leave. To show there was an understanding of my predicament I received most of my security deposit back and got an escort out of goon space with all my stuff so I wouldn't get ganked.
