Map Control Blues

There's only one thing I have issue with on the Map Control Panel. Mostly, it all works great for me.

What really bugs me, is if we're supposed to be able to use the info gleaned from the Panel, then the Panel should at least work properly in supplying said requested info.

What isn't the Map Control Panel doing properly? It hasn't a clue who or how many pilots are in any system at any given time with its own parameters in mind.

So, if I'm going to go into a system, I should be able to look up in the MCP how many Pilots are there/hve been there recently (given its parameters); so goes the theory...

SInce I kept finding Pilots in systems where the MCP showed none, I perfumed an experiment by hanging out in a low-sec system for several hours, ratting and keeping an eye on the Local Chat.

Every half hour I would check the MCP to see if it matched what I had witnessed. Nope, after two hours of being in system with three others trying to scan me down and chase me out and a few other visitors coming and going, the MCP still showed the system of having ZERO average pilots in last thirty minutes and the jumps were more than double what I counted. And the one visitor whose ship got vaporized in the time I was there, never showed up on MCP.

That's messed up.

Answer: take any info from MCP with grain of salt/ guideline only, cause it sure can't count.

Alternate answer: point MCP to Khan Academy for lessons.

Another alternate answer: perhaps the MCP should be scanning and updating more frequently (all systems) for better results.
