Dust 514 beta keys are out - eve players not included.

I've heard about that. Apparently it has something to do with the head bobbing or up and down motion of the camera. Lesser frame rates would of course make this more dramatic. Apparently, I recall there is a fix for BFBC2 by editing the config file or something that removes this effect.

Seems to help a lot of players, and from what I hear it's not really considered a cheat so it doesn't affect you as far as server access is concerned. They might have even made it an official hotfix optional to some players by now. Apparently, not all FPS have this problem either.

Might be a good idea if Dust had this option as a switch in a config menu if it is a problem and possible on PS3.

This is the EVE Forum. All content is supposed to have something to do with EVE. The ISDs happily lock threads that don't have anything to DO with EVE, yet these Dust posts proliferate.

So much for your self-imagined integrity.

to be fair, DUST is part of eve, threads for games or out of context to CCP products will be locked and removed. so talking about mc donalds or you fav gears of war game will be locked. content to do with CCP products will be left on the fourms until they expire or locked due to inactivity.

Just a couple of key things that seem to be repeatedly overlooked

1. Those 5000 keys were given to SONY beta testers
Other words, people who likely test games often and have shown that they reliably get on and play consistently
Basically people who have shown they are good at doing the kind of testing needed

2. The build they are testing in very old
They aren't getting access to the "latest and greatest" beta as they are simply testing it for stress purposes and the actual up to date beta is not quite ready yet

3. No eve or fanfest people have beta keys yet because the "latest and greatest" beta build isn't ready quite yet

4. Since CCP has made it quite clear they wish to have a different fan base for Dust by making it a free to play and console game the question about playstation plus was almost assuredly not hinting at some dark and sinister plot to rob you of your hard earned IRL iskies


So basically what has been done currently with beta keys is like giving your qualified race car drivers a version of your new car that is just engine chassis suspension and brakes in order to make sure that all works properly before you give the nice near production version to all of your extremely eager fans and people who own other cars of your company


Also random aside, I was under the impression that Dust is a PS3 exclusive more due to the fact that the design and method of connection and in-game chats and such that go along with Xbox live would be prohibitive. I also believed it had something to do with the fact that on the Xbox, design of live and microsoft's own choices would make it so that CCP would not be able to run Dust on tranquility. That is a key element to Dust and that coupled with the fact that Microsoft is unwilling to allow dust to be playable on live without requiring a gold membership were reasons Dust became PS3 only.
