if orcas could compress ore in highsec why would anyone bother to get a rorqual?

Granted his idea was bad, but why do you assume his need is for low sec...the Rorqual after all cannot go high sec?
And the primary role of the Rorqual is just the same as that as the Orca, a fleet booster for miners, just bigger and better.
Just because it has one bad implemented unique feature no other ship or structure can has, does not make that its primary role its virtue to judge it and alternatives by.

Fact is, people find handling ores in high sec a pain to deal with, either better ore freighters are needed, or compression services (POS or stations, as ships are silly for this).

I am serious!

how about a t2 orca that can haul ships? a large ship maintainance array, so that people can move their rigged battleships about.

An industrial carrier is a different class of T1 ship, not a T2 Orca.

Get this...This is crazy...wait, wait...just listen...

Dude, I found out the other day...dudedudedude...rorquals...you know, those big ass capital ships....guess what??? They can't go into high sec!...I know dude, i thought it was crazy too...Turns out, the orca having ore compression in high sec has nothing to do with the rorqual at all.. I know, I know..It's crazy....

LOL, it would be hard pressed to even caith up to three hulks mining with a station to drop the ore off in local. Add one more jump and it has no chance in hell to keep up!

What people against this idea don't realize is that it's not about catching up. Sure, I can drop off the loot and make it back before the hulks have enough ore to fill my holds, however, that also means there's a bunch of jet cans sitting out there waiting for me to come back.

Miners have gotten so tired of ganks and can flips that they align to stations and mine directly into the corp hangers of the orcas.

Also, it's not gonna earn anyone more money for the orcas to have ore compression. As a matter of fact, they'll probably make less money now since they have to spend some on the blueprints.

So again, it's not about money, it's not about an easy button.

It's about security and longevity.

The longer they can sit out there getting filled up then the less tedious it becomes to be a hauler, and the more secure it is to be a miner.

Perhaps one of the best answers I have seen so far.
