The thing is, we don't all know its anecdotal. Plenty of people will believe anything they read on these forums. Take the "sites are tied to regions" theory. That was repeated enough with nothing to back it such that it became accepted.

Had one escalation from an anomaly in high sec. Never had one in null.

Also, as some1 else has posted, 1/10 or 1/15 of Gur Refuge or Hideaway spawns a DG, sounds about right. Ofcourse I don't have any statistics to provide but I am sure those two spawn em. Refuge being the preferred one cause it spawns destroyer sized DG rats that seem to have the odd chance of dropping something. In my non statistical experience DG frigates drop tags and usually ammo. TBH I dont remember ever getting a mod/implant from a DG frig.

My first faction spawn ever was from a Guristas Hideaway and he dropped a low grade crystal epsilon.

Random is random.

Though I do remember "tags and ammo" being a running joke when I lived in Tenal.

And yes, these are all "estimations, generalizations"...based on anecdotal evidence. I'm willing to bet not a single person here has any actual documented results, just things they "remember" i.e. anecdotal.

estimations based on long time daily experience can be very accurate, when it comes to estimate percentages of drop/spawn rates. Data mining is there to refine and tighten estamitations. Sometimes even you have a lot of Data you still can compeltely fail with the analysis when you want to find mechanics behind the unknown.

I agree with you on principle, but I find it highly unlikely that much of the observations here are based on " long time daily experience." Its a game afterall. Also, take into account the notion that most of these "observations" are drawn from memory, thus further compromising their integrity.
