First off, I'd like to say I'm a very new player, and I've thoroughly enjoyed perusing the forums thus far. That being said, pardon my lack of desire to seek out the answer to my question, as I'm sure it's been answered somewhere along the way, (the first thing I noticed about these forums is that people are all too ready to torch "stupid" posts) so please only post if you're willing to help.

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could throw up some,

PvP fits for the Comet
and
PvE fits for the Catalyst

I would sincerely appreciate any and all responses. I'm sure whatever you suggest is much better than what I'm running now. Please don't limit your suggestions based on my low amount of SP's. I'm kind of looking to grow into a fit, although if it helps, I am capable of using T2 turrets. Also, feel free to suggest anything that might help a newcomer.

Cheap and sleazy catalyst PvE missioning fit (works great for L2 missions):

[Catalyst, PvE]
Small Inefficient Armor Repair Unit
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I
Damage Control II - or DC1 if you're cost-averse

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Cap Recharger II - or recharger 1 or meta, whatever your wallet and fitting skills prefer

125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
125mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon, Antimatter Charge S
Salvager I

[empty rig slot]
[empty rig slot]
[empty rig slot]

Hobgoblin I x1

Summary: railguns pretty much alpha all the frigates you find in low-level missions, and you just speed-tank the cruisers. Cap recharger to run your repper for a couple more cycles when you need it - honestly there's not much else to do with that 2nd mid slot. Salvager is for the juicier wrecks, don't try to salvage everything in the mission complex, your eyes will bleed. You could run 8x rails but honestly it's overkill, the salvager gives more utility.

I use the cheap meta2 rails because they're good enough to get the job done, and you can get them for a song and a dance.

You could fit a single mission-specific hardener but I find that the EAMN I is more than enough.

For a very few missions where you know that there are mostly cruiser targets, you can use a close-in gank fit to burn them down a little quicker:

[Catalyst, Reaction Blaster Fit]
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I
Damage Control II
Small Inefficient Armor Repair Unit

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Cap Recharger II

Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Limited Light Ion Blaster I, Antimatter Charge S
Salvager I

[empty rig slot]
[empty rig slot]
[empty rig slot]

Hobgoblin I x1

However this setup is vulnerable to frigate-heavy missions due to lower resists and more exposure to enemy fire.

Since it looks like you are in fac war - you can use the 125mm catalyst fit that Ryelek posted for plexing minor plexes and pvp. You will have to swap out the mids for a MWD and long point. Depending on your fitting skills, I think it might need a small ACR rig. It's not the best pvp catalyst fit, but it works well enough.

Useful or not I do love the Comet. Something to be said for style.
