To be fair, I did not put a suggestion up at first but wanted to know the reasons for why we have only one view. I was not sure if I might only be missing something. But as the arguments came it did it become clear that it is just a lack of a common feature and there is no reason not to have it.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I do not see the texture level as an issue. You should still be able to zoom in and out. And you can specify LOD and texture quality over the game's settings. If it puts more stress on the graphics card then will people tend to wanting it as long as they can switch back. I am not saying to get rid of the current view, but to give us an alternative.

By the way and because I have mixed it into the discussion earlier, how the ships behave with regards to roll, pitch and bank could be made a trade of the races.


Well, the texture level is mainly for large ships. It isn't so much a function of performance, but it would need, as you say, a scalable texture map for higher resolution than the current. It would be cool to see more effects in regards to banking, aux thrusters and the like. The way ships roll and turn too.

Caldari have that look of high speed fighters. Interesting to see lots directional roll and thrusters, heavy pitch effect

Amarr should stay on the plane. turn on the level like some ol naval battleship. Vertical movement visuals should slowly pitch, like a submarine surfacing

Gallente have that sportscar look, the most spacy. Intermediate between caldari and amarr, 45 %%d roll angles

Minmatar of course have sails. High pitch, low roll, very wispy.

Egotistical swordsmanship aside, this has been a fascinating discussion from one early argument broadening out and encapsulating several intriguing ideas which, in my opinion, are great avenues for further exploration.

I hope to read more and I also hope CPP is reading too.Shocked
