All my intel sources points out that if Bob wasnt disbanned they would have been militarily defeated in 2 years at most but thats a poor estimate since my group doesnt dabble in what ifs of things that are no longer what ifs.

From my understanding BoB was basically falling apart by the time Goons performed their legendary act of espionage, so it probably wouldn't have changed anything in the long run. Supposedly there are still mirrors of their official forums from back in the day floating around, if you want to read them.

If BOB was still around, null sec might have some real wars going on.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

There was no legendary act of espionage.

There was a little disgruntled director with roles who was fed up with the game and decided to hurt the very alliance he was part of in the most humiliating way.
If any other entity would have been more hurtfull he would have coaxed with them to disband BoB.

The only legendary thing about Goons is the way they twist the reality of things that happened and the fools who actually believe the lies.

February 2009: Disband of Brothers, and the Second Great Invasion of Delve

"It looks like we are being ****** royally" -cflux, BoB director

As January faded into February goon morale was worsening. SE and other denizens of Stain, C0VEN and Systematic-Chaos, were chipping away at our Esoteria claims. The Newper, a "secret" jump bridge network running along -A- space, had collapsed after weeks of being camped. The AZN to 77S connection, the thin jump bridge lifeline holding the two major GoonSwarm capitals, was severed, crippling alliance logistics. GoonSwarm was bleeding on several fronts, and with no clear future goons began to despair.

During this quieter period in the war Suas, a long-time director and hero of GoonSwarm, came back suddenly and began disrupting operations. The GS directorate told him to take some time off, but Suas was apparently so enraged by their response to his actions, that he decided to go **** goons; using his status in GoonSwarm, he convinced a goon to give him his Titan. Suas then ripped him off, and later wrote a song called "I Robbed A Goon" (a take on "I Kissed A Girl")[2].
Although Suas bathed in the spotlight of his treason, it would in no way compare to the nuclear holocaust that was about to unfold in the south.

Over the course of January, Tamir Lenk of Igneus Auctorita had spoken to and recruited a random pubbie from EVE's public recruitment channel; initially intending to recruitment scam him, he had a change of heart and instead accepted him into the alliance genuinely. After some background checks on the new recruit's corp history, however, it was decided that there was the possibility of this character being a spy and that he should be purged from the alliance before he could do harm.

When the new IGNE character was informed of this, he made a full and unexpected confession: the pubbie was actually an alt of Band of Brothers director Haargoth Agamar. A full director, with full directorate access in Tin Foil, the executor corporation of Band of Brothers. The director told a person in IGNE who they were, that they had had enough of BoB, and that the brief time in GoonSwarm had reminded them that EVE could be fun again. Tamir and IGNE's CEO Aaron Static proceeded to go to The Mittani with the info, who was sceptical at first, but then began to plan a quick smash-and-grab of any assets the director could get his hands on.

It then struck Mittani, upon looking at the measly grabbings of a dozen dreads and a few billion ISK. "The director has full access in Tin Foil. The director can disband BoB." Upon this realization, he set it in motion. And finally, on February 5th, a full director in the Tin Foil executor corporation of Band of Brothers, disbanded and closed the alliance, resetting all BoB sov claims to 0, destroying constellation sovereignty in all Delve constellations, and putting every capital ship assembly array into a vulnerable position. The call was made to GoonSwarm a few hours later: "We're moving. Get your ass to Delve. All other regions are forefeit."

Thus began the Second Great Invason of Delve, and the mass evacuation of Tenerifis, Feythabolis, Esoteria and Detorid - the regions GoonSwarm had worked so hard to claim in The Great EVE War and lived in for over two years. With the initial help of RAZOR Alliance, KIA, and Pandemic Legion, Morsus Mihi and TCF on their way, and the total lack of any BoB jump bridges or cynosural jammers, GoonSwarm saw that to crack Fortress Delve, this would be the only chance they'd ever get.
The former Band of Brothers reformed a day later using the placeholder alliance KenZoku (affectionately called "KenGoku" and "Kenny"). Their sov remained at Sov 1.

Within a day, dozens of Dickstars were erected in station systems, including the infamous QY6 system which had been the main thunderdome in the first war as well. GoonSwarm and its allies were well on the way to claiming sovereignity in many of Delve's hardest station systems.

Point proven. Disgruntled player bought his way into Goonswarm by disbanding his own alliance.

Once again, if he could have pissed people in BoB off more by joining another alliance or corporation and then killing BoB he would have.
There was no infiltration. There was no espionage.
Anyone with half a braincell can see that.

No wonder most Goons and pets can't see that.

Goons don't really do the whole "pet" thing. They really aren't into the whole "padding their space with people they don't like" thing, either.

Goons tend to shoot people they don't like. Hell, Goons tend to shoot people they DO like, for fun. All these people that you refer to as "pets", likely because you think they have no voice or something (idk, really). They are all friends of Goons. They like Goons, and Goons like them.

Goons don't abandon their friends, like certain alliances did with their "pets". If Raiden. or whoever decides to try and take a swipe at an ally, and that ally looks like they might not handle it, Goons will come and help out if asked. Not for any cost, or payment or anything. Just to help out a friend in need.

So you can take your little "pets" business and turn around and go back to whatever corner of space that you call home and enjoy your little ideas on your own time.

I was amazed when BoB went down. It totally destroyed any potential argument about one group getting too powerful to be taken down because the game mechanics made it impossible. BoB was really dug in...

I can't imagine what it would be like if they were still around though. The goons wouldn't be so overrated now.

There's never been an alliance like BoB's since... wonder if one will rise again. I guess it depends on how attractive it is to be in and have sovereignty in null. Right now there's no incentive for an organization like that to exist.

Don't worry so much. BoB 4.0 is still around and the war continues!

After BoB had the button pushed on them, they didn't just all ragequit, after all.

Yes, after they had the button pushed, someone immediately reformed BoB. I think Goonfleet is a corp in the BoB alliance. But the person in charge got banned or something, so they're both stuck in time etc.

(Someone has a character in BoB who posts still).

Triggered by: Wars of Sovless Agression, Bending the Knee, Twisting the Knife, Eating Sov Wheaties, Bombless Bombers, Fizzlesov, Interceptor Fleets, Running Away, GhostTime Vuln, Renters, Bombs, Bubbles ?

The actual Band Of Brothers name is part of the old Goonswarm, headed by Karttoon, who is banned for RMT.

LOL after all this time, people still think that BOB was disbanded against their will.

BOB just got tired of the endless kicking of your asses and decided to up the game a little by dropping sov. And IT was the same story all over. And when raiden gets tired of kicking your asses this will happen again. Then they will form a new alliance and repeat. PL knew/know this was happening, so they decided to do the same when they dropped sov in fountain , PL never lost to IT, there was made an agreement. Im not sure if goons knew about this or this why they dropped sov themselves, but I suspect it.

Some players just just like a challenge.

So what you are saying is they didn't want to play this game anyway.

If BoB was never disbanded by that $@!@!(* then GoonSwarm would have finally been defeated and the economy would of been fixed because parents would of been forced to drop their toddlers off at daycare.

If BOB never disbanded Goons would have something else to do besides ***** about Empire and CSM shenanigans. This game really needs at least two great empires, not just one. If IT tries to become a major player again, they will have their work cut out for them because this is a different EVE now. That being said, their return coinciding with a new expansion involving titan nerfs is probably not coincidence either. They have always had insider information to play with.

Ultimately, meh...
Most of us are so sick to death of null sec, goon(dot) and BOB(dot) that I think the mystique is gone forever. No one really gives a **** anymore TBFH. Straight

Look at the Sov map, eve has several great empires and many smaller but powerful ones. Goons are no the largest Sov owner.

Right now it looks like 2012 will turn into north vs south.

Infiltration part is always funny.
If someone gives you their house keys, and you use them, is that infiltrating? No. Breaking and entering? Still no.

Not that i give a damn about BoB or GSF, but politics and campaigns at that time were interesting.

OTOH, what happened to SirMolle? RageQuit or got tired?
