We Minmatar have the best ships and ancient race COSMOS.

After the Tutorial Missions, do the career agents and the SOE epic mission arc, which will teach you that high sec is a lot smaller than it seems once you learn how to jump to zero.

Can someone clue me in on the advantages (and disadvantages) of remaining in Minmatar space?

I have been told that Caldari and Amarr are the hotspots for settling, but I am weighing the pros and cons of packing up and moving away from my beloved home of 2 days.

Thank you in advance!

There are no advantages or disadvantage to staying in or leaving one empire controlled space, for any of the others. They are all essentailly the same, as far as the game mechanics go.

I obviously started out my EVE career (with this character) in Minmatar space. I spent a litle over 2 years there. Then I moved into Khanid (Amarr) controlled space and spent about a year there. Then back to Minmatar, about a year, then to Caldari. Spent a year in Caldari, and now I'm back in Minmatar space.

The only advantages.... I have jump clones in three empires. I can misison run lvl 4's in three empires as well.

Just keep in mind that because a lot of people hang around in filthy Caldari space, and run Level IV missions, the number of people who hang around Caldari Mission hub systems also goes up. Not just the mission runners, but the corps looking for carebear nubs to wardec for easy kills. If you're looking for wars, this can be a good thing. If you're looking to mine, the belts are generally depleted in Caldari space, due to the high population. Plus there's the fact that Jita local is nothing but spam.

The far superior Gallente Federation space, on the other hand, is a bit more laid back, the original home of the Suddenly Ninjas corp, and has far less spam in the local trade hub (Dodixie). Granted, it's still there, but whenever I go I tend to see a lot more actual people bantering with each other. Frogs [Gallente=space french], IMHO, are far superior to the Squids [Caldari/Amarr=Cal/Amarr=Calamari].

This made me laugh. Seen all kinds of terms to call the factions in EVE but never saw the Caldari / Amarr coalition referred to as squids.

I like it here.

There's your reason to stay put.
Hek is a fine market hub, Jita's like no distance (even if you go the long way)

Minmatar space will also aid in not turning you in to a total fluff bunny when it comes to lowsec

I have found a tiny little corner to do my Carebear mining. It is quiet, low population, phat belts. For this stage in my career, I have found happiness with friends.

When the PvP part of my career begins, things will change. I do like the idea of having clones in several places. Thanks for the tip!
