Nexon only option for subscription...S*CKS!!!

Well it has come time for me to say good bye to EveO. For an American living in Japan the only option for me to pay for renewing my subscription is through Nexon. I have no idea why CCP has done this but I am unwilling to pay more than the $132 USD that I was paying for my 6 accounts since 2003. For all you Expat Eve players living in Japan I share your heartache as I love this game but this is a calling to move on to another game. Farewell to everyone and safe flying as this account will expire in a few hours.

paying more than $22 per month per account is a bit odd. I'd probably re-think my subscription if it was that much.

I think $22 is quite ridiculous for a monthly subscription, especially when there are so many F2P MMO's these days. But that's what you get when you add a money-grubbing 3rd party into the food-chain. Why the hell thought CCP they needed Nexon anyway?

Sorry for any confusion about my post. The problem is that I have been paying an annual subscription for my accounts since 2003. CCP recently went to Nexon paying system for players in Japan and it is the only option for us. The website is totally in Japanese and the CCP guide to setup an account and how to purchase credits is for redemption coupons only. I could go buy GTC's but I am unwilling to pay more than the $131 USD.

I saw a previous post that said GTC's were $22 USD a month but why in the world would I pay $264 vice $131 for an annual subscription and then you multiply that by 6 accounts and the difference is $798 annually, that's twice as much!!!

Why in the world did CCP decide to only go with the Nexon pay system for players in Japan is beyond reasoning. Are they making that much money that they don't need any more?

If the language is an issue, can't you contact Eve support, explain them your problem (no english translation avaible from Nexon) so they could provide you with a translation? Would also give CCP an incentive to push Nexon in making an english version of their site.

I do agree that adding a third party to handle subscriptions is a bit much tho... can only complicate things.

A GTC is twice as much because they convert to 2 PLEX, so 2 months worth of gametime. Can't you just get 3xGTC for the 6 accounts?

File a petition under billing and claim to be a soldier stationed in japan. They will revert your billing stuff to a CC of your choosing. (No kidding, that works.)

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

Yep, CCP is working on it now but unfortunately my accounts will expire before they get it done.

Besides World of Tanks offer a much simplier option for entertainment and it is free :)

You should use a VPN service like hidemyass.com , costs under $10 for a month.. get one month, then route your connection through the US, and pay through the US system.

Would that work for you?

Probably would but why go through all that trouble? It was sooo much simplier when CCP handled their own subscription than introducing a 3rd party. Besides it is only in Japan that we do not have all the options for payment...ONLY NEXON...what a bunch of BS!!!

Wow, given the choice between playing through Nexom or not playing at all, Japanese players are choosing not to play at all. How in the hell was this a wise direction to go?
