Fraiser. Sibling rivalry at its best and worst.

Northern Exposure. Big egos in a small mystical town.

Friends. Great ensemble cast with digital-watch comedy timing.

Pretty much stopped watching TV after 2003, hence nothing new listed.

This space for rent.

Babylon 5 is the best show in the history of television (imho).

However, I still feel the single finest episode of a TV show I've ever seen is "Once More with Feeling" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I'm a sucker for musical theater Big smile).

These days I don't watch a lot of TV, but enjoy House, MD and Mad Men now and then.

Name a shrub after me.  Something prickly and hard to eradicate.

Don't watch all that much TV anymore, some of these were from when I was a kid.

NHL/NFL Playoffs, NASCAR.
Glenn Beck, either on Fox News or CNN, so I know what I am supposed to think about the issues.
The Dukes of Hazzard, loved the muscle cars of the 60's ever since.

Monk.

The show is honestly very hot and cold. Some episodes are just REALLY bad. Suddenly making him out to be a five year old, or spending the whole episode talking about something and then pulling the solution out of thin air at the end. But even when it's bad the characters are neat so it's worth watching.

The assistant (the second one) is cute without being a bimbo stereotype. The police chief is hard without being a drill Sargent stereotype. The comic relief lieutenant is weak, but forgivable. Lots of random guest stars. Monk has that unique quality where he WON'T give in to the situation, 'do the right thing' or overcome his condition. He's a character with character.

Been a long time since a show carried me through this far. I gave up on Prison Break somewhere during season 2. Lost got me to Season 3 I think. I'm on 8 with Monk (the last season on netflix) and I'm afraid to finish it!

I can't think of a show that even comes close, except maybe Six Feet Under

Other than these two...

Arrested Development
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Sopranos
Freaks and Geeks

...are pretty cool too

Most of my choices have already been said but I do have two more to add.

The Planets by the BBC. Even though its over a decade old I still think it is the best space documentary series ever made.
