I wish CCP would do what the WoT Dev's did...

I know CCP gives us a general idea of what's coming up a few months in advance, but it would be nice to see a big roadmap like the one the WoT Devs gave their community. If CCP did this, I'd also like them to actually stick to it as well, as we all know they have ADHD and like to change their focus all the time.

Wouldn't it be nice, if CCP gave us something like this and actually stuck to it? Or would this just cause more complaining on the forums because the Devs can't address every single little problem like the people here seem to want?

I think it would be nice, I'd like to know what the plans are for this time next year.

CCP usually does a good job of voicing their plans, but as you've mentioned, the problem is in sticking to them. No amount of dev blogs or publicly viewable development roadmaps will fix poor and fickle execution of those plans. The problem is with the company's culture - particularly in management - of switching gears to the next shiny thing they come up with, leaving unfinished the last shiny project they started.

Pieced together from various dev posts and statements, summer next year so far is (I'm sure theres more than this):

  • Hybrid Rebalance
  • More ship balancing (probably T1 frigate and cruiser iteration)
  • More Incarna iteration
  • More 0.0 changes from their new 0.0 roadmap
  • Dust514

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

They do do a decent job of telling us, but usually the meat of what is to come isn't announced until a few months beforehand if we're lucky.

I'd like a roadmap that kind of tells us what the biggest things they're working on are for the next year (or two even) as well as some small things. What new things are they bringing to FiS aside from a rebalance of stuff? New Ships? New Station Models? Anything?
Everything they've announced so far is promised in the Winter expansion or sometime in the future, is that future a year from now? Or two or three?

It'd just be nice to have a general idea of what they're working on for the entire year, and they can update it with any other new things they decide to throw in as well on the way.

But, yes, the fact they can't seem to stick to any one thing would probably make it impossible for them to make a roadmap of their plans :(
