Re open the Eve gate, and let us go back to earth.

If you watch the old Eve intro it explains how mankind had conquered the whole Milky Way galaxy ("When the stargates could take them no further") they turned against each other and the only way to get away from this situation was the EVE's wormhole that was discovered. Since it closed, what you think most likely happened back in the Milky Way? - I think the most obvious answer is that they started wars again for the remaining resources and eventually the great civilization died out or if they somehow managed to overcome that situation and reached the next civilization level (Kardashev scale) ie. the power to control the whole energy output of a star, they might still exist in which case they might have now so abundant resources that they have no need to fight for resources anymore...

Good point, sadly though, whenever there's war, there's always someone winning it.

It's just like the age old story of robotic guns shooting each other, in the end, there will always be one left, cause there's no robotic gun left to shoot it and if there were, same rule applies.

Like the Jove, i'm almost sure that this feature is in CCP drawer waiting and waiting.. EVE need more expansions like Apocrypha.. The introduction of Sleepers and Whormholes was a excellent feature, pve and pvp wise. We need more of that..

assuming our galaxy didnt have and massive disasters they would be so much more advanced then all the races in eve it would be stupid. the gate closed 50,000 eve years ago or something, and with that the races basically reset and had to rediscover space flight and stuff.

    • Earth no longer exists, it was obliterated in the same way New Eden(System) was by the Collapase of the EVE gate.

    • New Eden System is Sol, and earth is gone.

    • The EVE gate is a Dyson Sphere around Sol and Earth, the New Eden cluster is the Milky Way.

    • New Eden Custer is a new Universe, the old Universe suffered a big crunch.

    • New Eden is Virtual Reality (Capsuleers are Sleeper Avatars), in a virtual reality (EVE online), in a reality (IRL), but who really knows where it ends (c.f. Rene Descartes).

    I was always under the impression that the EVE Gate - the wormhole - simply jumped them a great distance across the Universe, way far away from the Milky Way Galaxy.

    These are things I had not considered, but do any of those ideas hold weight with the lore? I haven't read any of the novels yet.

    On a more serious note...

    To reopen the way to earth in game is nothing i think i'm interested in experiencing in the foreseeable future. It would turn into a massive project and i'm more interesting in CCP putting resources into already existing features like the UI and V3.

    Can't argue against that it would be cool though. But please think of the children lore!

    Awesome, but i think i only saw an Abadon with a doomsday device there, not sure though, never fired one of those :P

    Anyhow, if there's a weapon, that kills enemies by imploding their shield, I'd say turn your shields off for the win :D

    Also, it's entirely possible that New Eden is in the Milky Way. the lore never explicitly states that humanity explored all of the galaxy. only that the gates *could take them no further*

    ie star cluster isn't close enough to other star clusters. New Eden would be a ways away from Earth Cluster, but relatively speaking we have no way of knowing how far away they are.

    Just had to giggle a bit. If the EVE gate reopened, surely something like this would happen...
