Ships tend to either be dual propped, need a web, or need a cap injector. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but then that's why I said MOST ships, not ALL ships. The drake being broken has nothing to do with shield tanking and everything to do with the resist bonus + amazing damage projection + low isk/SP cost.

Just leave the drake alone the caldari need to have atleast one decent fleet ship.

You're missing my point. I have 100k buffer. If I'm fighitng an armor tank with an equal buffer, I'm neutralizing a substantial portion of his DPS, while he's neutralizing none of mine.

Unfortunately you will still die to that assault frigate, because he's active tanked, and your missiles don't do ****, and it will only be a mater of time before he chews through the EHP.
Off the top of my head I'd give you about 6-7min life expectancy against a blaster daredevil, and that's conservative estimate imo.

OP, to make your point more poignant let's look at the Onyx.

Fit it for shield buffer and you end up with a120K or something EHP and 600 dps regen. I'm not arguing one way or the other about shield buffer tanks but that is a better example to use than a drake.
