Tech 3 mods with variable power output.

You could, while undocked, increase or decrease a module's power output. If you want more DPS, put more power into the gyrostabilizers; if you want more tracking, put more power into the tracking enhancer/computer; if you want more cap recharge; put power into the cap recharger/flux coil; if you want more shields, put more power into the shield booster; etc. etc;

If you put more power into buffer mods, like armor or shields, it'll increase your max buffer, but not your current buffer, so you'd still have to rep it normally; and you'd have to keep it in high-power mode, at least until it gets worn-down naturally enough that you can switch power to dps.

Doesn't necessarily have to use the Power fitting stat. Could use a new stat "Nano-electricity" or whatever.

Sounds overly complicated for no real benefit to the game (and would probably be horribly exploitable in min-max fits too).

More importantly, the term "nanoelectricity" makes me cringe.

Thermodynamics?

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
