No, what will actually happen is that people older than ca. 6 months will know that all their time and effort are guaranteed to go up in smoke, and then they'll quit. Also all vets will as well, for obvious reasons.

I know I would quit eve if this happened. I've put decent effort into gaining standings and can now fly ships i truly enjoy amd am skilled at them. I.don't want to waste another year training up missile skills and being years away from a cap ship again.

Of the time and effort I've put in over 3+ years of learning, losses, and recovering from/learning better from same, yes.

A server reset would defeat the purpose of a sandbox game where the players tell their own story.

And, as many have said, I would not be willing to redo 6+ years of training just to make some new players happy.
