When 99% of us use the petition form, the reply we get are " We don't see anything in the logs".

So really... What are these mysterious logs that don't have anything in them. I swear you guys just have blank.log files that the GMs are using when evaluating petitions. Myself and those listening to our podcast would like to know what is in these log files. What kinda of stuff are you guys monitoring? Is it just server statistic logs? Does it include chats? Does it include KMs? What kind tools do the GMs have at their disposal when they evaluate petitions? Do DEVs have tools only exclusive to them that GMs don't have access to that could reverse some of the petitions?

These are some of the questions that have been ask by some of our listeners of our podcast and some fellow podcasters. Not all of us are able to have one on one time in Iceland with some of the GMs and DEVs to pose these questions during Fanfest.

From my experience (not directly EVE related; more a techy's standpoint): Logs include as much as possible as far as it's reasonable. E.g. they'll most likely include all chat text or ingame mails being sent, all ships being destroyed (with all kill mail details of course), missions being accepted, mission status changing, missions being completed, etc.

CSRs (or GMs; that definition changes from game to game) most likely don't have a complete set of tools, but they should have everything required to do their work (so I don't think they're missing anything that could change the outcomes of some petition). Plus there will be different groups of CSR people, e.g. not everyone of them will be able to check your account's subscription status or the information regarding your last payments. If your petition is put in the correct category (e.g. subscription issues vs. tech issues vs. player reporting) you shouldn't have to worry about GMs or CSRs not being able to handle your petition properly. After all it's their money and they'd be dumb allowing you to be disappointed just due to some handy tool being unavailable to your customer support.

Also the collected data won't include client side stuff happening (e.g. you writing down some text and deleting it before actually sending it or some statistics about graphical glitches or framerate drops) or things that are simply not feasible/useful to track. As an example, you can't track the exact position of players or NPCs all the time, nor can you log every player's latency. The amount of data this would produce would be simply too astronomic (and in most cases not of any use). There can be snapshots every x seconds (those are stored as part of your "savegame" anyway).

Also, when is account management gonna be working again? I have some very important accounts that need to be managed.

It's been down yesterday to apply changes for the "trade 20 PLEX for a Nvidia GTX 560" promotion.
