When I want to calculate my NAV once a week or so (as I'd like to see progress made with trading), I'm looking at some numbers but I'm not sure how to put them together.

a) Wallet says 2.567.255.007,24
b) Total in ESCROW: 3.573.805.853 (additional 14.494.673.003 ISK to cover)
c) Sell Orders Total: 1.893.702.859
d) Buy Orders Total: 18.068.478.856

Hangars are clear so no other items adding to these numbers.

Question:

How much ISK do I currently have?

a+b+c ?

or

a+c+d ?

I'm totally confused, so pls help.

Escrow is how much is held by a third party, in this case the market. Your total ISK should include a+b+c+d, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

(Obviously you are buying 18m worth of things so that will be spent. If you want to calculate how much you had before you put the buy order up, include that. Otherwise a+b+ (if it sells) c.)

You currently have A.

If you cancel all your buy orders, you have A+D. If all your sell order complete, you have A+C. Cancelling sell orders will return the transaction tax held in escrow but not the broker fees.

A+B+C is your NAV.

Your current wealth is your wallet, your ISK tied up in escrow, and the assets you have that are in sell orders. Buy orders do not count as part of your wealth.

For example, imagine you had 25 billion. With margin trading maxed out, you could put up 100 billion in buy orders, and your 25 billion would be tied up in escrow. That would not mean that your wealth suddenly became 100 billion. It just means you have buy orders out for more than your current wealth.

I normally assume a potential fall in my sell orders, so I use

A+B+ ( C * .9 )

i.e. assuming I will eventually sell all my items for 10% less than my current sell orders.

Not exact but can avoid dissapointment....

I calculate it as A+B+C. Sure, that includes items that I still need to sell, but they are going to sell eventually no matter what, so there is no point in leaving them out.

It's not perfect, but then what is?

Bitter Sea Trading calculates it as A + B + C + E - where E is the value of assets.
