I don't think many CCP dev's run Incursions

Are you, OP, suggesting that these changes will make incursions harder or just make the fleets generate less ISK per hour?

I am hoping that the changes make fleets pay attention to how they are playing.

In a typical VG fleet most people are semi-AFK. In "elite" (shiny) fleets that I've been in I've had the pleasure of messing about with my companions and not paying much attention to the game at all. In comms people are joking, talking about what they are doing other than EVE, and just messing around. Don't get me wrong, it's a ton of fun, but it is also indicative that VGs are ridiculously simple in their current form.

With CCP introducing some elements of randomization then, perhaps, people may have to pay attention a little more.

In my view, if Incursions are meant to be "raid" zones then CCP should study what makes a good raid instance. Things like randomness and rewards are a good start. The best players should get the best rewards. And best isn't 100% dictated by the most SP or the most expensive ship. There is the ability to adapt on the fly and to react to changes on grid.

Currently, the only people that really need to pay a lot of attention in incursions are logi pilots and, usually, fleets over stack their logis so even logis don't have to be 100% on the ball.

I am hopeful for these changes and I am really looking forward to seeing Incursions evolve into fun and rewarding experiences for player fleets.

Few days ago I looked at some killboard with high sec PVE losses just after incursions where released.
The losses where staggering. I mean, that was really like Shocked.

Yet you adapted and overcame.
I'm sure you'll figure this out too.

See it from the positive side, it was getting boring and predictable like mission running. Smile
