It wouldn't be a good idea to change Eve too much, because then Eve would be more and more something else than Eve. But I think that constant improvements and additions are the right way. For example improve the user interface etc..

If you make so that achieving something major takes couple of days, well, after that people get bored, because they are done with it.

But how to keep end content players and new players? CCP added incursions, but you really can't jump into them as new player. Maybe there should be level 1 incursions too like there are level 1 missions. But then would incursions replace missions totally? And what if they did? Does Eve need missions and incursions? I don't know?

One good thing about Eve is that you can explore and try different things. You are not being held by hand. I tried one other mmo and I got fatigue as there were tons of quests that lead to new tons of quests. In Eve I do one thing at a time, what I choose and have some goal. In other mmo the goal is always the same, in Eve I can choose more.

Still, even though I can do what ever I choose, I seem to gravitate always back to missions, as they give the best isk so far. Sure I could mine alone or in fleets, but I started as a missioneer. I tried mining and exploring too, but as everything needs time and investment, I am bound to end up really choosing what I do and mostly stick to it.

I tried exploring, but in the start it felt more tedious and difficult to find the sites I searched for. Often I found only worm holes and lairs, which I wasn't looking for. I am not sure should I go to low sec / null sec / wh to explore, as so far I have chosen to be in high sec and ships are too expensive to lose. The excitement is good if you want excitement, and I plan to eventually try more dangerous places too. If you changed Eve and removed the end game danger and excitement, well then it wouldn't be there for a) looking up to nor b) for those who want to take risks.

But all professions should be somewhat in line with all others. Maybe they are in some way.

Then when you have billions, you can happily waste millions to experimenting with things. One rule of thumb in Eve is not to fly anything you can't afford to lose.
