A question for CCP

So if I want to sit in a system cloaked which denies a targeted Corporation or player freedom of movement as a tactic, how long can i do that for before CCP considers it griefing?

It's not griefing, it's them being paranoid and allowing the possibility of someone being vaguely in the vicinity to intimidate them.

How can not doing something be considered griefing? It's not doing anything.

And you can drop the hypothetical talk, we all know that you're the one that has been intimidated by someone being in the system with you (despite them doing absolutely nothing) and are posting on here with a NPC alt to whine about it.

You can do it forever and it will not be griefing, it's a valid tactic.

They will figure you out in a couple of days though, if they have any brains.

That depends. How long until the OP is considered trolling?

If you're wanting to do it to someone, enjoy wasting an entire account on the project. Hope it pays well.

If you're a victim...learn to ignore afk cloakers.

The only ones griefing in this case would be the Corp/whoever that hide from one cloaky.

So you're literally afraid of someone who isn't there? I hear using tactics and forethought really helps in taking care of any problems that might arise with a cloaker making himself at home.

Well, we are running on 9 years of Eve. So maybe 10 years?

You're not denied freedom of movement because someone is cloaked somewhere. You are denied freedom of movement because you're scared of a shadow. There's nothing stopping you from undocking.

I live in low, not in friendly low, but I'm alone against everyone. That doesn't stop me from exploring and doing stuff to make isk, I just do it carefully. I don't stop just because hostiles are on local. Cloakies in local don't bother me, station campers are something else entirely.

Personally, I never understood the "tactic" of sitting around doing NOTHING in a game you pay money for. Never made any sense to me.

But whatever. You want to sit around claoked doing nothing, knock yourself out. I'll be out having fun or making iskies.

How does sitting cloaked stop someone from moving?

The best part is sitting in null cloaked on a 3 month old character, knowing that you've just force-docked a dozen Hulks and stopped all the ratting.

CCP, we left highsec 'cause of war decs, suicide gankers, ninja salvagers, corps that swoop in and take our belts, etc;

And then we left lowsec 'cause we couldn't keep anything out, and the harder we tried the more we attracted these terrifying people with 1bil clones and four utility alts and titan links;

And we looked in a wormhole and saw uncountable invisible sharks and oh God there's one behind you right now;

And by this point we knew that NPC null also wouldn't work, so --

We're in null now, and we finally thought we'd found a safe, private, high-security home, with no losses or scary people ever.

There should be a new forum rule: you can only complain about AFK cloakies if you also complain about T2 BPOs.

Better idea, complaining about either of them gets you a 2-week temp forum ban.

Same applies in w-space. A solo player, with a collection of probes, can seriously messup a large force, just by being there and occasionally dropping some combat probes where they can see them.

Some hi-end system groups will just ignore, confident that they have enough gank to cover whatever might be out there, but most groups find it threatening and troubling ... and it seriously messes with their activities and enjoyment.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
