I keep hearing they are purpose built ganking ships, as they have BS sized weapons but no tank.

Are they just for ganking and supposed to be expendable use and throw away type ships or is there a use for them other than that?

Goons; infiltration at its best - first bob... now ccp itself. They dont realize you guys dot take this as "just a game". Bring it down guys, we're rooting for you.

They are great for cheapish fire support in lvl 5s.

Great for killing Customs Offices in C1s.

Intended for small gang pvp (no experience there).

Great at station games, if you play them right.

From help chat one night:

"Besides ganking, what else do people use the tornado for?"
"Ripping through Oklahoma"

Dry humor aside, ya pretty much just PVP; use their high speed and low sig radius to your advantage. Never let them get webbed or neuted and they shine against ships bigger than them. The oracle also makes a damn good high sec POS basher (or any other sec POS basher if you can't fly a dread)

They're also sexy to look at.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Agreed.

Perhaps CCP will take note of the approval their redesign of Stealth bomber hulls has received and will consider devoting time to redesigning all T2, and possibly Navy and Pirate hulls, to be visually distinct from their base hull.

Paint and an occasional extra thruster bolted on don't really do it for most people.

They are handy for added fire support with playing with others through missions. I ran an active shield/speed tanked Tornado to help out of guy with some levels 4 missions. The only real snag is hitting the small stuff and not having drones. Otherwise you have the firepower of a Machariel for a tenth of the price. Have a Drake or Domi aggro and tank a room and have the Tornadoes shoot everything to pieces.

The are team/fleet/group ships, solo they are just gank boats.

I use them on my two alts as support dps ships on mission, cheap ships with a lot firepower and awesome speed and agility, nagas with rails 720dps ftw, pulse oracle 1080 dps for mission like pirate invasion etc.

If it bleed we can kill it.

They're sex on thrusters. Though if your opponent flies a lot of cruiser class and smaller ships the sex ain't so great. Remember folks, size matters.

If solo and facing a frig, you better do it with small guns (in which case the frig dies really fast).

I use them to engage when I'm massively outnumbered. The combination of battleship weapon range with cruiser mobility is just unparalleled for the price point. The Zealot is almost good at this - if it had just a bit stronger optimal bonus I'd be in heaven. :)

Small fleet of these tier 3s can cause alot of pain in a short amount of time, they're fast and agile enough to avoid getting locked on. I do say this is the best interation of a sniper fleet Ive seen in a long time. By the time you pop your warp bubble off they're already back in sniper range again taking shots and mowing though your fleet.

I just fall back to one of the older T1's if my opponent is flying multiple small ships. They may be older, but that just makes them cougars.

Really?

Their purpose seems obvious. A mobile platform for battleship sized weapons.

An example:

Naga

around 1500 ish m/s
700 dps @ 70km with antimatter
Switch to spike and hit out to max lock range
No tank but you're not spose to get shot at anyways.

Hard to hit frigs but w/e.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

/me Writes down performance to reverse engineer later.

This brawler is relevant to my interests would like to stay with the fleet instead of sniping without any escorts for 50kms makes you feel a bit nekkid.
