I think the OP was using Drake prices as the standard for over done Inflation. Drakes at 70 would put everything else in line with that.

This is not inflation though. it's manipulation and it has a purpose. If you want to use a more realistic item of standard, decide what a PLEX needs to go to in order for CCP to step in.

There is an interesting discussion of the economy and market activity in EVE. Looks like inflation is here until at least the end of 2012 Q2. Basically there is too much ISK inflow which is one of the sources of inflation.

I highly doubt they'd be intervening at all. That market is working as intended. Be it speculation, bot bans, whatever... this is all meant to be. I'm hoping this recovery from artificially low prices due to bots is a permanent change.

I'm loving it so far. My margins have only gotten better.

On a side note: Why hasn't anyong triggered a PI speculation bubble? I'm sure there were bots involved there, too! Come on! Once all the bots are banned, PI goods will be worth a fortune!

Why?
A noob with a blue print copy from contracts will spend the EXACT same time making a drake next winter when the drake is 70m as he will today.
The ONLY people hurting by a 70 mill drake and a 350 mill Maelstrom / Abaddon is the NULL sec alliance that do not mine.

CCP is unlikely to intervene due to speculation, which will sort itself out on its own eventually. That said, it would not surprise me if there was some balance to mineral production volume to go with the drone/meta 0 nerf, just don't expect to see it before the nerf.

Eve is becoming intresting again. Losing ships is starting to slightly concern players now. Will be intresting to see 1 billion isk as something to be worried about losing. Currently the only limiting factor on ship choice is skill points.

Let the prices rise.

As others have said, there is too much ISK flow into the game... CCP is concerned about this, if you managed to catch Dr. Eyjo's "Faucets and Sinks" seminar.

Oddly enough, however, they are about to change Drone Alloys to ISK Bounties.

There are numerous other factors at work, or soon to be at work (such as Dr. Eyjo's interest in adjusting "taxes" and "fees" in the game) but overall, sooner or later, the pilot community will adjust it's spending habits.

Hell, some of them might even get out and mine. Roll

Then some of them, for a short time anyway, will put a new "value" on both ships and "ISK".

What would be really scary is if CCP decided to "re-value" or even restructure the ISK as a unit of currency... might have to call it the "Peso" by the time the panic had subsided. ShockedBlink

Why should drake cost 50m anyway? It is ship with quallities comparable to hulls costing four times more.
