Just over a year ago, I had been searching for some good YouTube probing tutorials to see if there was anything left to learn about the process. After searching for an hour or two, having watched several video guides(including CCP's guide), I came to the conclusion that the quality of most probing guides on YouTube were, for the most part, poor. They were quite lacking in information, detail, and overall quality.

Shortly thereafter, I decided to make my 3-part probing tutorial and post it to YouTube to help out the community. But I now realize that I need to actually tell people about it, rather than just post it in my bio. So, here you go! The feedback thus far has been excellent, and hopefully these videos will continue to help new probers get the hang of their new potential trade.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

All 3 combined

Total Runtime: 24:38

Some of the information is somewhat dated, but nearly all of it is still useful and relevant. Feedback is always appreciated, positive or negative, as long as it is constructive criticism.

NOTE: These videos do not cover the following: Deep Space Probes, Combat Probing, Directional Scanning, Onboard Scanners. They only cover signature probing.

EDIT: Share it with everyone you know who wants to give probing a shot! More competent explorers = more decryptors = more of our beloved T2 ships!

I'll have to check this out later. I've been looking into doing probing since resubscribing.

If you have any questions after watching it, feel free to ask me here or in-game and I'd be more than happy to assist you.

Nice, always good to have more info available and yeah, those vids are a bit dated but the info is still viable.

Any chance of having all three vids being edited together and streaming it as one complete vid? Probably would make it a lot more user friendly.

Speaking of user's, have you posted this info in the new players sub forum? I'm sure they could really benefit from it.

Anyway, thanks and good job

I didn't know YouTube allowed uploads longer than 15 minutes for free, now. I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: Combining them as we speak. Will be uploaded within the next hour or two, then I will update the thread. Going to keep the old videos up on YouTube as well though, because some people probably have them bookmarked from before.

Ahhh, I didn't even consider the YouTube account limitations.

Yeah, apparently it's just a 20 gigabyte file limit now, as far as I know. I'm currently spiking my views to get it high on the list. :D

Awhile ago, I made a video covering DSPs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8aopMhGALI

Enjoy :)

Also, I have videos on how to blitz Watch and Hideout sites. I never finished making videos for the other high sec sites. I do lowsec a lot, haven't made videos on those at all. Same concept, different names. Maybe one day I finish my video guides on sites.

Also this was done before alt feature was implemented.

Oh the memories of moving each probe individually....
Yeah, it's very out dated but decent for when it was made.

EDIT:
As a note, if you want to be a good explorer, get good an actually probing, not cherry picking sigs with a DSP.
I watched most of that DSP vid too and a decent prober could have probed out the entire system in the time it takes you to drop a DSP, find a sig, reload/launch core probes and scan the 1 sig using 4 (seriously?) probes...
