I have searched and I see some past threads but I am STILL having this problem.

Problem: Launcher starts, updates and runs fine. When I click play the splash screen appears, disappears, EXEFile runs but doesn't do anything. I can see it in the task manager but I get nothing on screen.

Machine Spec:Dell Vostro laptop with Nvidia GT525M (Optimus etc.) and Intel integrated graphics. Core i5, 6Gb ram etc....blah blah blah. It runs Eve great.

What I've tried:


  • Repair Tool: No dice. Ran through fine but still having the problem.

  • Re-install: Uninstalled, deleted everything and re-downloaded. Still no dice.

  • Direct X Update: No dice, got the latest version from MS.

  • Forced Nvidia processor in Nvidia control panel.

  • Forced Integrated in Nvidia control panel.

  • Checked for new drivers for graphics card.

  • Pulled power cord and ran Eve.



Edit: I found a solution that worked for me. YMMV.

I ran the 'Startup Repair' tool in Win7. I don't know what it fixed and I don't want to plow through the logs but it fixed the issue. I'm guessing an obscure corrupt file.

Hopefully it'll help someone.
