You know it's funny, I see all these carebears complain about the ganking and can flipping etc and want more security. WTF is wrong with you? I can grab a pod and jump as many gates as I wish in High sec and don't even get looked at crossways. You know it is carebear land when making it passed 3 jumps in a pod and your not popped and buying a new clone. You wouldn't make it that far in low sec I can tell you unless you had scouts at every gate along the way.

While High sec has it's newbies in bought toons flying T3's looking to fight, they are not as abundant as you might think, and the gankers popping hulks and Orcas in High sec, I say please come to more of the newbi sectors and get rid of the frakers who empty them out and make it hard for the REAL newbies to even make any isk at all without venturing off through gates they have no idea what is possible on the other side. The real threat to high sec is those who wish not to grow, who wish to play it safe, because they are the ones sucking up your resources, bringing gankers into high sec to kill them because thats where they stay.

Ganking has its purposes, just as mining and manufacturing does. But if you wish to blame someone for the hostility rise in High sec, blame the carebear who's been in eve 3 years and refuse to actually play the game by venturing out among the stars and taking risks that everyone is risking.

The company that makes this game is a business, and they are in the business of making a profit. Without profits, well, then we have no game to play.

It is a well-known that casual gamers (and for the most part, the care bears are casual gamers) are the DOMINANT population in the MMO community.

Also, those with the loudest voice are not always the majority. It is also a well-known that casual players for the most part, do not bother with msg boards/forums. Sony Entertainment learned this lesson the hard way, by listening to the loudest voice (the raiders had the loudest voice, but were most definatly in the minority); Blizzard learned the lesson and made a game tailored to casual gamers, now they are a profitable business.

The game long term survivability depends upon subscriptions. How many players have been lost due to uncontrolled piracy. This game will NOT survive unless new players join the game and stay at a rate equal to or exceeding the rate that players retire from the game.

For the continued long term survival of the game, there must be a “safe haven” for the care bears. They will be the ones that form the BULK of the subscription base. With increased profits, then the company that makes this game can use those profits to add more content, expand the game, improve performance, ect ect

Im not saying no pvp, but I am saying that the poorly controlled PVP piracy in high sec has driven players away and has negatively affected the profit potential of the company and the potential growth /expansion of the game.

tl;dr: All resteraunts should just serve hamburgers and fries because those are the most popular food items.

And 9 years on, we are still here. Funny old world isn't it?

Please mail me regarding this issue. As CCP have clearly stated that an Exhumer pilot in a starter system is not a newbie & as such, not protected by the NPE, I would be happy to remove this scum.

"Uncontrolled piracy", single-shard and sci-fi is what makes EVE unique in comparison to other MMOs. Making a "safe haven" will retain different players, maybe even more... but for what? Everyone who plays for the previous three reasons will eventually realize the unavoidable consequences of such a change.

When these players start quitting it will be because of boredom and indifference. They won't tell CCP why, they won't put out tears threads... nothing. EVE will lose it's appeal to players who like playing in every region of sec status. No income area will be able to compete with a 100% risk-free zone.

Risk/reward ratios only make sense if both extremes are 100% risk = 0% profit and 0% risk = 0% profit. Yes, it is a bell curve and being able to skew that bell curve left or right without ever being able to change both extremes is what differentiates players. Balance requires there be a point where risk is simply too high and where it is too low.

Who do you think shows up at the fanfests? The amount of hands when CCP asked "who has ganked someone" made me proud Cool

It only took one game for me to lose all respect for this "profitable business" in less than a month. The final straw was them telling me what was fun and what was a great story.

This.

That particular game stopped being fun when you could beat the supposedly hard content by rolling your face around the keyboard while beating off with one hand & rubbing your nipples with the other.
