Hello!

Just a bump to confirm the "," "." thing is still chaotic, after a petition CCP said they were going to fix it in the next patch... thanks for the new version tho!

Pretty much an amazing tool, thanks for all the great work! It's helped me a LOT in selling stuff I manufacture since I sell my wares across multiple regions and almost never have fewer than 150 orders at a time (what can I say, I like making all kinds of crap and seeing just how high I can push the price on it and still have people buy it up Twisted)

It would definitely be cool to have some kind of a functionality for (optionally) automatically setting the self cost, but I can see how that would be tricky because different people are very likely to disagree to some extent on what the cost of an item is. For me it's how much it costs to produce but this is all I do, buy materials and sell them back as stuff that goes on ships and gets blown up soon enough. Personally, even a file import functionality would be useful for me, where the input could be something like a tab-delimited list of item names and prices (since I can easily obtain those just by exporting from my spreadsheets).

As it stands, though, this tool is wonderful and I recommend it even though I understand it would make it easier for my market competition to compete with me, heh. Thart, I contracted you a token of my appreciation for the work you've done, considering that it makes my moneymaking faster and all Smile Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your donation!

Of course I have a different ideas how to calculate self costs, but currently I'm working on market import from EVE-Central/EVE Marketeer.

Just added task for self cost import. Export is under construction now.

Hi, very good program indeed, its helping a lot

may i suggest the following? (im sorry if in someway this is already possible, but since im a new user)

character orders

when using imported orders with api and market scanner in the IGB and after that loading that information from cache i can see the orders that ive been outbid (red ones), but:

Sell orders
- from what i can see the program only shows outbided orders from the same solar system (or station?). so if i was outbided with an order one jump away the program doesnt show red for that order since i was not outbided in the same solar system.
i know that i can check and use the market browser for that item, but if i have to check this for every item i would waste a lot of time, almost the same time that i used to take
why dont you allow users to choose if they want the program to take in consideration the orders for that item in the same solar system or in the hole region for example, so if i was outibid 1jump away the order can show red in the price?

buy orders
- i use a lot of regional buy orders for several items. so im having the same problem as above.
imagine this.. i place a buy order with the range of "regional" in a different solar system and with a price way bellow other orders with the range of "station". now i dont want to raise the value of the order, since im willing to go to any place in the same region to get the item. this order is green in the price because i was not outbided in the same solar system. but imagine that another guy places a regional order for the same item in another solar system? this way the order is still green, but i have been outbided for the regional order
the program could allow the user tho choose orders within the same "range" as a complement of what is shown now (this away the order could go red with another order higher than mine, within the same range and placed in a another solar system. or the program could at least display in "market orders" the orders with the same range and / or all the other orders for the same region (from what i can see now the program only shows orders in the same solar system)

i know that i could with the market browser identify that, but again, if i do this for every item in the buy orders i would "waste" a lot of time doing that

so with examples:

Sell orders
- my orders: order 1 in solar system x with the price of 10million isk
other user orders: an order for the same item as order 1, in solar system y one jump away, but in the same region, with the price of 1million isk
Result: the program shows the order as green, but it should take in account the order one jump away(or even other regional orders for the same item), so this way a red is showed (this could be optional for user)

Buy orders:
- my orders: order 1 in solar system x with the price of 1million isk with the range of regional
Other user orders: an order for the same item in solar system y, with the price of 1.1million isk and the range of region
conclusion: the program shows the order as green since i have not been outbided in the same solar system, but ive been outbided for the regional range orders. (the program could allow the same as above)

This has potential, but instead of writing new features you need to fix the problems with the current ones.

1) The UI is painfully slow, learn how to write threaded programs and put the slow tasks in worker threads. E.g. loading updates, when ever some task is selected it locks up for anything from 20 seconds to 2 minutes while it finishes the task. WTF does it take 2-3 minutes to swap characters, Jeveassets which carries much more of data swaps characters instantly and loads all nine API updates in half the the time it takes Eve Mentat to load one.

2) Make load all actual load all, rather work throught the painfully slow UI.

3) Load market data from Eve Central with updates cache loading, I don't want to waste time browsing the market, exporting the data, and importing it into Mentat. It's a worse click fest than PI was.

Uh, it's three/four clicks.
Open the scanner page in the IGB.
hit run.
wait
update the market from cache.

Woo! CSM XI!

Please check program options: File -> Preferences, "Price status" tab, "Sell orders price range" options.
Here you can set up preferred range: station, solar system, whole region.

It's known issue of EVE Mentat 1.1.
But test prototype (EVE Mentat 1.2) has real order status checker based on route calculation between your and rival's orders. And it can catch even partially overbid orders. Apply to EVE Mentat Google group to be able to download EVE Mentat 1.2 test prototype.

UI is not slow. It's too much data are fetched from your database when you switch characters.

Normally switching between characters takes 0-2 sec. Application "speed" heavily depends on your preferences: especially on observable periods specified by user.

To speed up EVE Mentat do next things:

1. Configure graphs on "Character sheet" tab to show data for the last month (or week).
2. Configure "Orders" tab to show only active orders and history for last month or week.
3. Configure "Journal" and "Transactions" to show records for last month or week.

Also problem may be in case when EVE Mentat is located on external drive with slow USB connection (during character switching it heavily works with on-disk database). Try to move application to HDD.

Also you can send me log.txt file (in EVE Mentat's folder) generated after your regular work for analysis. It can show performance bottlenecks.

EVE Mentat 1.2 prototype already has EVE Central and EVE Marketeer import. Just apply to Google group to be able to test it.

The eve patch today messed something up for me.

Running 2 clients, had the market caches working fine, now after patch it will only import 1 of the clients market cache.

Any solution?

Do you have two EVE Online clients in different folders?
Did you try to specify direct path to cache in preferences?
What about logs? Send me log.txt (after import) via e-mail please.
