2. If D-scan is capable of what it's capable why there is no radar instead?

Adding slider (with auto-update on the input field), ok, changing mechanics, no.

Agreed. Also, a visual representation of what area on your screen you're scanning, ie. a little circle for 5% and 15% and so on, would be good. If you've ever used the d-scanner you know what I'm talking about.

I agree, let's make it too easy and obvious instead of using our own brain.

It is SO easy to find things with Dscan once you have mastered it.

Its one of those rare things in game where you don't need an in game skill for it, but it takes a lot of figurin' out. Since I have already figured it out on my own through trial and error, I would be pissed if they introduced some skill that a nub could train to l5 and then be as good at dscan as me.

Press F11 little solar system map at the bottom gives you this functionality. It also gives you a mini map for those who were talking about it.
I could see how a quick slider for something like 1,2,4,6,8,10,12,14 AU would be reasonably handy. Leave the manual input box alone though.

If you want a small 1 inch slider to represent any range from 1km to (approx) 21 billion km then be my guest. Personally, I'd rather just type the number in myself based on what I need it for.

Also, leave my D-Scan alone you ****.

FAKE EDIT: Please bring back the small system map that used to be on the D-Scanner CCP. Having to rock around with the F11 minimap sidebar open whilst D-Scanning is a pain in the arse. You removed it when solar system view came in, and yet I still don't use Solar System view because it reduces my spatial awareness when I'm in the middle of a hostile system trying to scan some **** down at a moon. That is all.

REAL EDIT: Also, why can't I hold down the alt key and have an icon appear for all the moons anymore? (been gone a while)

Keep the input text box
Add a slider
Add 5 customizable presets buttons ( angle + distance )
Extract minimap from F11 so you can have it anywhere on screen
Add a shortcut to activate the D-scan

As others have said, have both the input field and a slider and some presets.

"Take off the 21 add a 7" etc and spamming "9's" to max it again is just a chore.

New idea: Add an option to dynamically only show brackets in space that are within the range you have set on your d-scan.

This would help / speed up locating targets without dumbing it down.
