You should be fine with mixing different caliber short range weapons, so long as you don't stack tracking enhancers (it makes the range difference too substantial)

Doing it with long range weps like arty's is pretty iffy, big range difference between those

With guns use all one type if you can, specialize. When you try to do everything it just means you SUCK AT EVERYTHING.

Mixed weapons are bad, m'kay?

Just use them all the same. If it's not optimal for what you're doing, change guns or change range/speed/other modules.
