Making a character for sale

Since I have limited isk I was considering making an alternate char to sell eventually (2-6 months down the road) my question is what is in highest demand that would be smart to work on making?

I see a hulk char may be profitable but is there anything else?

Spend that 2-6 months cash on PLEX and sell them on the market. They are at an all time peak ATM.

Im aware I can plex and get isk that way but Im looking at other alternatives.

How much isk do you want to make from it and how much work do you want to put into it?

work isint a big deal and isk wise Id like to get over 3 bill basically I wanna find a way to make a char that I can pay for the months with plex and when I sell to make back everything I lost plus some

i forget the character bazaar rules

basic hulk pilot sells for 1.3-2bil or so... depending on everything
this takes about 2 months to train
so you would be makeing 300mil or so/hulk alt, minus implants
but doesn't the seller have to use a plex to sell the character or spend $20... in which case.. you would have gotten more isk just buying plex..

sale price, Id be happy with 500m or 1 bill profit (assuming I used plex for the transfer)

Well that's easy to achieve, in fact you're probably setting your sights a bit low.

Hulk pilots may see a surge in popularity with the upcomming changes, but in my experience the best thing to create for re-sale is either a Tengu pilot or a high-standings jita trader.

Tengu pilots are pretty common and take a lot of SP to make, whereas jita traders are rarer and require very little SP to make, so the jita trader will make you the most isk in the shortest timespan.

The jita traders require you to get standings for them, but that's a fairly trivial excercise providing you can dual-box your main and the alt you are grooming.

I hadn't even thought of a trader char... and ya I could see tengus makin good isk....

Before I do this, there isint some rule that Ive missed about starting a trial to make a char to sell is there, trial, then the month for plex deal, then actually start paying from then on out

Id hate to get myself banned for a simple oversight

I would have been banned years ago if there was.

Use a buddy invite to create the new account and you'll get a PLEX back when you apply your first PLEX to the account.

Bad Bobby has a good point there. It's fairly easy to train a max skill trader, say max out all the trade skills and maybe even leave Tycoon at IV.

The thing that really would add value is getting Caldari Navy / Emperor Family to 9+ and faction as high as possible as well. Either dual box with a mission running main as said above, use a standing grinding service if you are lazy and have a bill to spare, or use De Michaels standings plan in conjunction with the above.

That's a bit elaborate for gaining standings on a fresh alt.

Remember that while people may say you want really high standings, you have to consider the diminishing returns you get from effort and isk spent on it versus the increase in sale price of the character. You are in this to make maximum profit with minimum effort, not to get the highest standings you can.

ok thank you :) Ill have to check to see going rates on standings services and such to see if its worth going that route or doing it myself.

Ill probably try to make a few of each, a few hulks, a few tengus, and a few standings and see how they work out :) With luck this will be come a lucrative business for me :)
