I have played for a year now. I have heard tales of how a band of young players took down one of the first major mega alliances. Tales of how honorable it was to bring down BoB. How corporate espionage turn you all into EVE billionaires. Then I heard about how you welcomed new players in, turning hundreds into thousands.

Then you lost your way. You became the very thing that you first sought to destroy. You became a band of little girls who ran around high sec, because null sec scared you and all you could do is gank miners rather than fighting others for territories that could further expand your empire. Because at the core of the null sec EVE experience, isn't that the point? To gain territory? Rather than sitting in your comfy little corner of null sec, hiding behind isk and your own idiot leader's stupidity?

So what happens when you **** off everyone who used to regale the stories of the honorable fall of BoB. What happens when low sec pirates get sick of your crap? What happens when the other mega alliances begin to move in on your territory? What happens when you, Goonswarm, become the retelling of the fall of BoB?

Your leader made fun of an obviously disturbed individual in real life. R-E-A-L L-I-F-E. Can you spell? Do I need to break out the crayons? Draw a picture for you? He got what he deserved. You throwing your hissy fits make about as much sense as a blind and deaf child trying to watch television. So grow up, crawl back into your hole, and disappear.......before you **** off all of those who once supported you. There was a reason why The Mittani has ruled the CSM. It was because people respected you, and guess what children? Respect isn't given, it is earned. So get the hell over it and move on. Period.

Tbh, the OP phrased it badly, but goons are looking a little stupid nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I used to quite like goons and their antics, but the level of light-hearted lulz that used to occur has descended into "LOL NO U PUBFAG". The wit that goons were renowned for is gone.

This seems to have been exacerbated ever since Mittens was banned and "jitageddon" was announced. You think it's such a big threat? We have other trade hubs. Besides, while all of you are busy pewpewing the bots in Jita, there's a good thousand goon accounts that aren't defending goon sovereign territory

There was no honour in taking down The Band of Brothers, because they got taken down by the clicking of a button.

No tactics.

Unless you consider a disgruntled employee clicking a button tactics.

Goons are amusing, nothing more.

They do not wish to be taken seriously. That is their right.

A clown may know a lot about finance, but he doesn't wear a suit.

Goons simply do not care about other peoples perception of them, so New Eden does not care about them.

You cannot respect someone who does not respect themselves.

There will not be a billboard or statue anywhere in New Eden for them ever.

The irony is a statue would be something they seek, but, you should never ever give power to he who seeks it.

This is the problem of the csm.

Candidates want power (or the perception of power) instead of candidates being put forward by their peers, suggesting they would add significant value to a democratic process.

I'm sure there are many who fall out of this context, but goons ( due to their self-promoting pie-in-face demeanor ) will never only ever subtract value from a democratic process.

Hey a new and exciting thread about a brand new subject!

Burning Jita was planned long before Mittens misbehaved. We're doing the same things now that we've always done and always will do. People seem to miss that Goonswarm is one big infernal machine that runs on drama, the day the tears and the sperging and the occasional colossal screw ups by our leaders run dry is the time to start talking about the end of Goons. Wouldn't hold your breath though.

I don't want to see you end. I just dont see what is accomplished by Jitageddon I guess. Yea you get tears, but then you lose the power you held because of the respect that many empire dwellers is dissipated. I love tears as much as the next person, and in EVE the tears can be truly epic. So you guys do what? Disrupt major market operations for a week? Hurt the economy more? Make it so that it is even harder for new players to get started, get a bankroll going, and eventually venture forth from noob systems, where you can potentially get many more tears for years to come? What is the end-game? I didn't post this thread to fight, forum pvp, or anything else. But rather to understand what makes this whole operation tick. What is the point? I asked that in the OP and I still have yet to have someone answer it for me...........can you Tinnin?

Ok well if it is truly about fun, sign me up.........but if it is about Goonies being upset then it is a waste of time. And if I do have facts mixed up forgive me, but much of what I have learned of EVE's history is through others. And this latest drama happened while I had no net access. So considering I am catching up through hearsay and bits of news, I am gonna need a little leeway lol.

But again isn't this counter productive to the game itself? In my year of playing, item prices have only went one direction.......up. What happens when it is impossible for the player base to grow due to endlessly driven up prices and lack of ability for new players, who didn't get in before our current recession, to thrive and make their place in EVE?

Things Goons do want: Tears.

Things Goons don't want: Respect of Empire dwellers.

Seems pretty transparent.
