I figured I might as well record a podcast. This was sort of a trial run (lousy mike, no music or other editing) but I figured 'what the hek' and published it. Hope someone enjoys it.

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts lately so gave yours a try. Overall, better than I was expecting for a first crack at it - I would listen to an episode two.

If I may offer some constructive criticism:
I found the pvp fight to be interesting. You mentioned at one point that you felt the Sabre pilot screwed up a bit by not trying to keep you at range - I think it would have been valuable if you had elaborated a bit more on what the Sabre should have done, and more importantly how you would have reacted to that to still claw out a win. As a far-from-uber PvPer, it is helpful to hear people's decision making process.

The Fanfest bit was kind of a letdown. I was thinking "ah, finally - a perspective from someone who was actually there" and then the content was rather cookie cutter. There wasn't much new or interesting for anyone who consumed the live stream or the dev blogs, or any of the other podcasts. I think it could have been much more compelling if you focused more on what you bring to the table: more personal opinion and less dev blog regurgitating, and/or more talking about the stuff that was not on the live stream.

Definite room for improvement, but I'll be keeping an eye out for episode two Smile

Thanks for the feedback Kyros....

I will keep in mind what you said about what to do from the point of view of the sabre. I am a far-from-uber PvPer myself. If the sabre had scrammed and webbed me keeping me at a range where he had an advantage I was pretty much going to die. Just because you could loose a fight, does not mean you are going to, or even likely to. My hope was that the sabre pilot would not have enough time during the fight to develop a counter tactic to me coming right at him and opening fire.

I will try to talk a bunch more about fanfest in a future blog/podcast. The problem is that the alliance panel controversy so overwhelmed all the other coverage that I got bored about writing about fanfest before I even got to the meat of fanfest. I totally agree that there was so much great stuff at fanfest that hasn't been covered (although I think the latest Lost in EVE did a good job) and deserves more.

High on percocet due to a shoulder injury, I decided to record a second episode. Enjoy!

Topics Discussed:

Feedback from first episode including how to fight a blaster ship.
A fight in Syndicate involving me vs a punisher, dramiel and two stealth bombers.
Shout-out to Sard Caid for his live stream.
Discussion of what is happening with minerals.

Just finished listening to episode 3 and will soon listen to the first two as well. Great work on the cast so far. Nice quality to the cast and I hope you continue.

Really enjoyed the solo pvp talk. It's also A+ material and something you do pretty well. I look forward to listening to the cast in the future!
