Charge for jet cans

This idea is just plain dumb. Jetcans are us throwing out our garbage into open space. If CCP wanted to stop botting, they'd take away the ability to activate scripts. They won't do that, ipso facto, they want botting in the game. These contorted solutions affect everyone else and won't work anyway. Remove bots? Just takes a few lines of code.

You folks really need to stop thinking of ideas. It's not like roulette where you're bound to hit a good one one day if you just keep on THINKING. Charge an ISK for a jetcan. Are you kidding?? BWAA HAAA HAAAA. That's just dumb.

Please elaborate on this as I'm sure CCP, Blizzard and everyone else would like to know how to remove 'the ability to activate scripts'.

If CCP really wanted to stop Botting and RMT they would disable API.

+1for OP

You cannot 'fix' botting, you can only make it hard, make it less profitable, and make as many botter accounts as you can catch DIAF.

You could still get around this with a negative wallet balance by killing a rat and using its wreck like a can right? Someone has to play devils advocate Lol.

You can't put things into a rat wreck can

Actually I stand corrected, you can use a wreck can. I just tested this. Kill a rat with loot in it. Salvage the rat (leave the loot inside) and it leaves a can. You can now use that can to store stuff in.

It is an absolute pain in the *** to do this as you would need to have a salvager with you and fly close enough to the wreck to use it, but it can be done.

Since "pain in the ass" is precisely what we're going for here, this is great news.

Where is this magic 'no scripts' button? If it exists, and CCP has it, they're in entirely the wrong business - they can license their magic button for hundreds of millions to software companies, and never again need to produce even a single line of code.

As a writer of automation scripts (at work, not Eve) I'd love to know exactly how you propose CCP prevent them from being used.

While I support the idea, as I care about such things I like to approach it from a lore/rp side and ask in game terms, why would launching a can cost ISK?

Just make it a "littering fee" that CONCORD takes very seriously and if you can't pay it you get flagged as a criminal Twisted

I've never seen a bot use a jetcan, they always fill up their holds then warp back to station, so this wouldn't fix or indeed affect botting in the lsightest, but for the other reasons I'm in, 10 isk per jettison would be fair. +1.

Not true. At least one popular bot program allows for jet canning and can be used in fleet operations if needed. I wonder how many of those are getting missed?

Not really the issue here - This is intended to **** off those botters and RMT folks what got busted and now have negative wallets.

In short, it's there to make grinding your way out of a negative wallet even more of a PITA than it already is.
