There should be payment / subscription options for casual players

One way you can look at this is, yes, you actually get to play - as in fly around in your space ship - or do some PI - or - a few hours a month. HOWEVER, your character TRAINS 24/7. So you can look at it from the perspective that your character is still playing the game, even though you are not. Worth the money, in my opinion.

There also should be a subscription option for bittervets - access to forums and chat channels only.

15€/month just to post on these forums is insane.

I can't really justify spending $30-$45 per month on a game that I might play for only 20 hours.

Can CCP look at alternative methods of paying or subscribing to the game? I'd rather go F2P and pay for "premium" content that I can use at my convenience.

If you can only shell out 20h of gametime each month, than you don't need 2-3 accounts.

Also, they should create this kind of subscription where special people like you:
- would need to pay 50 cents for using gates and docking into stations
- would need to pay 75 cents to pull missions and use industry/medical/LP store facilities
- won't be able to train skills when logged out of EVE
- shooting and reloading the guns/missile bays would cost 1 cent
- changing fits would cost 10 cents

  • Lowsec/nullsec are off limits.
  • You can purchase/use faction equipment/ships.
  • You can join a corp but cannot create one.
  • You cannot join FW.
  • CQ is accesible with the gold member plan
  • Opening the market will link you to the FTP store each and every time.

Do you smell what the Lock's cooking?

But it sucks that I have to pay $15 per month, the same amount as a hardcore, basement-dweller who can sink 12+ hours per day into the game. Obviously the basement-dweller is getting much more utility out of his dollars than I am. This especially hurts if you choose to run with alt accounts. I can't really justify spending $30-$45 per month on a game that I might play for only 20 hours.

Your a ******* idiot...are you 12 or something?

I pay $1200/month for rent....oh but I work, go out sometimes....I want to pay less than those who have more time to be home than me.....yeah sure that'll happen.

theres a game for this and its even free to play. Called Star Trek Online

Hmmmm, Star Trek is kinda too girly for me. I have an account on LOTRO which is F2P + MT, but I prefer my sci-fi and Eve's nastiness, as evidenced in this thread. Twisted

as he said lol

Star Trek Online... Play Klingons if you dont want girly, theyre all about that man on man stuff (given theyre almost required to PVP to level lol)

That little play time is hardly worth the subscription fee. They are not going to change their subscription service for people that have little time. That would be like telling your cable/satellite company you only watch XXX amount of television per week and you want a price break. Won't happen. Your choices are to bot to support your account(s) and take the risk of losing them, quit the game, or keep paying.

Hell no to F2P, it's a terrible idea that's been shot down time and time again.

What I would say yes to is plexs in lower amounts, even as low as 1 day plexs.
That way those that are all "waaaaaaa tis unfair" can get their "I'M ON AND CONTRIBUTING!!!" although then you'll cry about the lack of skill training.

if I could convert my 2ndary accounts to free to play i.e. no skill training I'd be happy .... my army of alts have no need for more skills

20hrs X 25m per hour = Free To Play.

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

Just train an alt on those accounts an trade those alts for PLEX every year. That should cover the costs nicely

You see, even though you're not playing as much as the "hardcore," you're still training skills.

It works out at roughly 50p a day. You can't even buy a decent can of name brand soft drink for that from most shops, lordy most chocolate bars cost more than that. You can't even have a decent night out at the cinema nower days for the cost of the subscription. I know people who spend more than that in an hour at the pub.

Quite simply if you can't justify the cost then don't pay and don't play it pure and simple. You do not have a right to play the game after all.

Actually I dont understand the ppl with more than 3-4 accounts, even 2 are enough to cover all aspects of EVE. Unless you going for titans and wanna max all super capitals in all races I cant see the point of 3 accounts even. I made a 3rd account for pirating but it got redundant since I had enough action with the other 2 anyway

Casual is one account.. well yes but even more so, real hardcore is also one account

Back to the OP

NO

Im also working 5 days and only got max 6 hours after work. EVE is the only game out there that is not some commercial Mcburger pos. EVE is not the type of game that requires you to sit online all the time to be someone and do something. Skill training is the same whether ur online or not, so its upto you how long and how much you can utilize your playing time.

I'm just saying I have similar play time as the OP.

I still manage to pay for a plex and pvp ships for the PVP weekend roams while running swa's various not so npc corp functions such as ship placement and pilot adoption programs and upgrade my rather eccentric collection of pinata caldari ships.

Though 500kk for a plex is getting to me, I’m glad I didn't lose my scorpion in a ball of fire (thought I tried by best being the last one out of system.)

Now imagine what sort of mayhem I can cause using my intel agent credential and certifications to start practicing infiltration subterfuge and sabotage on a second account.

I thought the same as you OP a while back . To get around it and feel like your getting your dollars worth

1) Divorce / separate from wife / partner / Griefer
2)Shun all interaction with friends and colleagues. They WILL eventually give up calling you
3) neglect personal hygiene - this helps with step 2
4)Profit

Hopes this helps
