You missed the bit where the botters log back in to wallets with iskies in the negative billions. Oh and have you ever tried to SELL something when your wallet is empty? The game code deducts the broker fee/taxes FIRST before crediting your account. So if you have zero isk and sell that 10M isk item, you won't be able to sell it because you can't afford the taxes/fees. Now imagine if you have -18 billion...

Likewise with Contracts.
Also you can't station trade with a negative wallet.
Move or Upgrade clones.. etc..

You know what would make that even more painful? A 0.01isk charge to jettison a can.

I have been noticing a general price increase across several module groups, but I'm not sure if it is related to bot bannings or a general long-term trend. It would be EXCELLENT to see some numbers on module drops before and after mass bannings of bots, as well as county collection, etc.

Yeah, this may mean that some meta-4 stuff that we take for granted may be a luxury in the future, but you know what? That's okay. I'm totally cool with that.

Additionally, with bots removed from the game, I expect PLEX demand to drop somewhat. That is good for those of us who remember PLEX for 150m a piece, long ago...

I think those actually caught botting should receive perma bans. Leave the two week stuff for that committed the smaller crimes, whatever they may be.

After that point, people will buy PLEX in bulk and demand will increase the price once again to where it levels off. I love how a free-market economy recovers.

Most of that is because the lower-priced modules are being bought up and reprocessed into minerals. Especially modules which have a lot of Nocx/Zyd as the 50-75% jump in price in a short time put most of those sell orders below their reproc value.

That may be; I rarely deal with low end modules for trading though. Usually Meta-3 and Meta-4 modules. That stuff you don't reprocess. : >

Having a game where a lot of people need to play multiple instances of the game just to get enough stimulation to enjoy it is getting close to being too much.

When people need to bot in a game just to enjoy it? They needed to find a new game a LONG time ago...

I don't think it's about stimulation, the farther you go in game, the more useful you find focused characters.
Just like real life, one character cannot be good at everything, at least not for many years. That depth is what keeps people playing long term.
Not to mention, if you live in 0.0, alts are a requirement....Unless you like going to highsec and dying to the constant wardecs. And then listening to your corp/alliance and leadership tell you what a dumbass you are...Shocked

So, I guess if you ever leave highsec, you'll understand....Cool

You really think CCP can afford a 20% hit in subscriptions?

"Boring" is a word 12 year olds use to control their parents. Adults who still use it are lacking in inner resources. Lots of ways to enjoy PVE in Eve. My alt's corp does it all the time. For one thing, we talk to each other in chat. For another, we can hang out on Eve with friends and do something else in real life. Children get bored. Adults develop their inner resources.

Awesome thread and link OP.
I flipped back and forth from laughing at the banned botter comments and shaking my head in amazement at the "I got caught cheating and banned, I'm gonna cancel my subs" logic.

Most entertaining

Nothing clever at this time.

While I appreciate everything Stoffer and his team are doing they have an uphill battle. The fundamental problem is that Eve's PvE game play is boring as hell, which will always lead to people finding ways to automate the boring parts away.

Incursions PvE was great fun when it first came out & is still fun but I agree it can use many tweaks. It'd just a few tweaks a month to keep them challenging & a new Incursion every 6 months to a year would be worth the effort IMHO to keep PvE fresh & exciting... Waiting forthe Jovian Incursion CCP! CCP is NOT taking a 20% subscriber hit. The botters live off Plex....people are buying and hoarding more Plex than are used already, so CCP is making their money regardless.

This will be nice for the min market, What I call the t1 market, but what about the t2 market. The whole moongoo thing is nothing but moon bots. T1 and t2 are mechanized , I don't know much about t3 but I'd say the barrier to making this a free market again is to move that moon goo around and make people work for it.

WHy you say? I just don't think its fair that some people have to work to play the game and others don't. Those are tears I'd like to see. :)

Maybe I'm wrong but if they removed silos or drastically downsized them, wouldn't that turn the who moongoo thing into a courier operation?

Oh, they would bot that too.
