Player Features and Ideas Discussion

Currently the new API (and even the legacy API) is such a tedious process for a person trying to register on our website. CCP has created predefined key links, like so: http://supporttest.eveonline.com/api/Key/CreatePredefined/{accessMask}/{characterID}/{isCorporationKey(true/false)}

The idea is a start, but just that. What really needs to be done is something where they can just click a link, login and approve it, then it redirects back.

A) Predefined link with requested permissions is clicked that brings user to API site with say a hostname & path, IE something like: http://supporttest.eveonline.com/api/Key/CreatePredefined/0/0/false/3rdpartyevewebsite.com/register
B) They login to API site
C) They are shown a page that says "3rdpartyevewebsite.com is requesting to view X, Y, Z information about your account, do you approve?" with 2 big YES or NO/CANCEL buttons.
D) If YES, then eveonline.com provides a link/redirects back to the 3rd party site with the API information in the URI.

You could make it more complex or streamlined than that even, but that's the general idea. It would make life for me and my alliance mates a hell of a lot easier when they register on our site.
