Making a Corp Pay for Itself?

by the sounds of it, it's not making isk because you're too nice.

First rule,
Don't put your own money into corp.

Corp wants a pos? fine, corp can pay for a pos, what's that? corp doesn't have money for a pos, then corp doesn't have pos.

Mission runners want free ammo and no tax, unlucky.

Miners want to sell to corp so they don't have to go to jita? They can get less that jita price + tax so that corp can ship to jita and sell at a profit then.

Corps in eve aren't like wow guilds or whatever.
The CEO actually needs to do work and effort to get it going, saying yes to everyone will just cripple it or make you bankrupt almost instantly.

Work out what it is your corp wants to do, then recruite players that want to do that.
If it's running missions, then expect to have a low tax and lots of entitled solo spods and they'll hate you for flying a bling ship even if you got it by missioning yourself and not with corp funds.

Hey guys! I'm wondering how to get my corp to pay for itself?

I personally don't care to generate money off of my corp as I am independently wealthy. However, my corp has become a definite ISK sink. I can afford it right now, but I really wanna mature my corp into an entity that can... well, pay for itself. I have a few (like, 12) core members who are with the program, however we're active at different times and recruiting has turned into a NIGHTMARE. I have more turnover than WalMart!

I set my tax rate to 5% thinking it would attract mission runners. But apparently even 5% is too high, and mission runners also want free ships and ammo.

Miners don't want to actually mine with the corp so that the corp can build things; instead they just want to mine on thier Hulk/Orca dualbox and sell their ore to the corp so they don't have to fly to Jita.

Industrialists don't want to build things for the corp to sell, instead they just want the corp to spend 180 million ISK per month to keep the towers online so they can run their research and production lines 24/7.

It's very frustrating really. I started this project thinking: "Everyone will generate their own ISK and income using corp assets and capital - a sustainable portion of their profits will be returned to the corp, increasing the kitty. As the kitty grows, membership can do even more with corp assets, and return a higher yield." I was thinking, if anything, the corp would either grow in value slowly (0.5 - 1% per month?) or at least remain a sustainable operation that paid for itself (if not generating profit). Instead what I get is... everyone wants the corp to provide them with a platform from which they can do their own lone-wolf activities without ever thinking about giving back to the kitty.

Who works for who? Really now I've been more than fair.

If anyone has any ideas on how a corporation can generate self-sustaining income, please share. We are one of the many indy-mission-miner corps out there and we operate in amarr hi-sec.

You just need to change strategy. As example I'm quite new. I did have some past experience with EVE but I had big break. So I created character, put him 200m that my old and broken character had and I start fresh. Then I had a break because small milestone in my real life and I'm back in action again.

I did joined corp. They help me move to 0.0 and... I was completly lost. Not many people online. Nothing to do as fresh guy and any attempt to leave secured area was just a suicide. Most of people I fly with just took me on some missions to kill some mobs (just like in high sec but harder) and that's it.
Right now I'm learning the game from the start, I'm developing my character and I'm traying profession that I never did (mining, exploration and stuff) etc.

I would love to see caldari corp that want guy with lot of question and that do some activity in high sec WITH strong back or allie so we could move (or I could join them there) to 0.0 and do some stuff instead of hiding behind force shield all the time.

I don't mind "working" for my corp if I'm not the only one. We must do SOMETHING right ? Something profitable that would benefit US and our corp anyway. Giving 10% or even more to corp that actually DO something with this money is not bad deal.
