In your original post you mentioned that you live in a WH and yet you can barely afford to lose a Pilgrim? You, my friend, are doing something very, very wrong.

OK hears what you do, rig it for lock time. Then you creep to target and book mark and warp to a near buy spot. then you warp back and one you start to slow down THEN drop your cloak. you sould drop out of warp un cloaked and able to make a grab at them

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

You can also uncloak by bumping them. They'll need to realign which gives you some extra time to lock.

Boosters also sound different. A very distinctive and periodic "HUM HUM" sound

I personally have no money, our corp operates as a commune style. I can replace any ship I lose easily with corp coffers but I don't want to backrupt the corp...if I can help it at least.

I think you mean "Cloaking"

Also, you could use these.

Interesting. It's a small bonus to time for the loss of a rig slot though.

Yep. Generally I've found them to not be worth it, but the option is there.

If you are hunting frigates in low sec your best bet is to stick to a frigate. Most low sec frigate pvp is more or less "consensual". It is difficult to catch a half competent frigate pilot completely off guard. Of all the frigate fights I've had in low sec less than a handful have been engagements I didn't want to get into.

If you want to fly amarr the punisher, crusader, malediction, vengeance, retribution and slicer are all great options. I have even had great success with the coercer.

If drone boats are your thing fly the ishkur.

A good frigate pilot can often get the upper hand on cruisers. The vengeance excels at this.

How are you not keeping frigs down?

Because a Pilgrim has to wait six seconds before even starting to lock a target, and frigates generally have align times much less than six seconds.

Um I've been away for some time (almost 4 years) so my memory might be a bit dodgy... But I'm sure it didn't use to take that long for my uncloaking pilgrim/rapier/falcon to 'start' locking something when I last played? Were cloaky ships nerfed in that respect?

It takes quite a while and always has. Certain ships (like bombers) have no cloak targeting delay.

Go with a Curse. You already have the required skills so why not take the plunge?

You should definately put some smartbombs on that pilgrim. Sneak up, start the dance and have some fun. Works perfect in my EFT.

I use the rigs that give that boost lock time, not delay after cloak.
I also dont use TD's i use one web, and 2 cap bosters, 3 med T2 nuet's and duel rep.
so far its been fun, I use a more standered fit for null with the TD's and a 800 plate so im not so ez to alpha.
But so far in low sec (well black rise at least) the TD has done me no good and some times the nano stuff can get a way so i put the web on. Think i got only one kill with it so far but im working on that.

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

The partial fix is to decloak in warp after 5% deegree scan hit when you have seen them warp from belt to belt...
