I am leaning towards the Enyo, but others have told me that drones do more true damage then guns. After appling what I learned in the "which Taranis is the best Taranis" thread,I have come up with this surprisingly high DPS Enyo build. It can overheat to 400DPS which is just stupid for a frigate Shocked

Quote:
[Enyo, Enyo 1.0]
Damage Control II
Explosive Plating II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Beta Reactor Control: Reaction Control I

Upgraded 1MN MicroWarpdrive I
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I

Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
[empty high slot]

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

Hobgoblin II x1

However it can easily be applied to the Iskur as well. The cost of switching over is an apparent drop in DPS and EHP for the build below.

Quote:

[Ishkur, Ishkur Dual-Prop]
Damage Control II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Upgraded 1MN MicroWarpdrive I
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Warp Scrambler II

Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
[empty high slot]

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

Hobgoblin II x5

So, which one do you all prefer over the other? And why? Also, do you have an improved build that tops either of these?

Think the OP meant can deliver 400DPS, not tank it.

I've had fun in this ship like so...

low sec ab fit http://genos.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12832173

It took out a harpy and a hawk but died to an enyo (that im p sure had links) These were a series of 1v1 that were much fun but I think I outstayed my welcome :D

It was much fun anyway but has the usual issues related to ab fits.

Then there is this lovely mwd fit which is amazing fun too and I recomend it....

Just watch out for over cap stable and tanky AF's :P

Or be like me and just engage everything for the hell of it.

Regardless its a great ship to fly and I think these are the best two variations available at present.

I don't always fly Gallente assault frigates, but when I do - I prefer the Enyo.

The Enyo has great turret DPS. The Ishkur has mediocre hybrid damage + mediocre drone damage = good overall damage. The problem with that is that it takes alot of skill to manage. If you release your drones to early a good frigate pilot will pick them off. And I've seen them released so late that by the time they lock and start to apply damage the ishkur pilot is in low armour. I'm not a big fan of the ishkur for that reason.

I don't generally fly solo with AFs, so I've actually preferred the Ishkur built with rails whacking people from the back line on top of drone damage. I would think that solo the Enyo would be a better brawler, though to be honest I never thought about it that much.
