After living in nullsec for a while and realizing that I can get 100% scan on anomalies without probes, and coming to the conclusion that the reason that never happened in highsec was because other people had gotten to them first, I'm now completely confused about scanning.

If there are no more probeless anomalies in system, is there any point in dropping probes or should I assume that the system is clear and move on to the next one?

Anomalies appear without using probes. Signatures, such as Ladar, Radar, Magnetometric and Combat sites including DED rated and unrated sites require the use of probes.

Drop 1 probe scan system to confirm. Make sure you cover the entire system. No sigs? Move on.

I never seen these people in my life. I don't recognize them Your Honor

Also, you don't need to drop a probe anymore as the on-board scanner will cover the entire system in the same time (if you figure that it takes a moment to drop and position a probe).

^Not true.... Ship scanner still has a range... I think 64 au. So the real big systems still require some moving... On top of that ship scanner ONLY covers anomalies. Any sig: Grav, Ladar, radar, mag, or Unknown Sig (wh / combat (DIFFERENT THAN ANOMS))

So if you jsut wanna run anoms which dont really make that great isk less u escalate / get lucky with a spawn, and you dont wanna look for signatures. use ship scanner.

If your looking for signatures or wh's u gotta drop a probe to check the system
