So, yesterday I was sitting in station, spinning my ship when I realized: I need to reset my PI extractors and skill que on my indy alt.

So, I closed out my client, opened up my launcher and hit play. (I never use the log-off button, idk why)

The splash page appeared.... then nothing...

I was a bit concerned about this, seeing as I was unable to feed my addiction to EVE and I started to convulse. I quickly had to think...what do I do? what do I do? I opened up my task manager, only to find EVE running! cmd.exe and ExeFile.exe were both running in my processes list, but EVE was not present in my applications list.

I KNOW! I KNOW! I KNOW!! I'll dump my cache and everything will be cool.

Opened up the launcher, went to settings... delete cache. Went back to launcher, press play................ ...... .. .... . NOTHING!

Sweet... wtf...

Lets try the repair tool.....CLICK........repair......PLAY........... ..... ... ..... .. .. ... ... . . . NOTHING AGAIN!

The only thing I could think of at this point was to start updating drivers, if that didn't work I would run registry scans. If that didn't work I would try and defrag my hard drive. If that didn't work then I guess I would just have to re-install the client.

LUCKY ME!

The first thing I tried was the easiest... Update Video Card Drivers....

TADA!!!! It worked. Eve is up and running, and a bit smoother now too...

LESSON LEARNED:

Always Always Always try other methods of fixing your client, like the repair tool or updating your computer's stuff before you clear your cache. If you have your UI heavily customized as I do. You will hate yourself for about an hour while you open and close every single window in EVE to get it back into its proper place. As well has having to reset all your Overview tabs, including having to re-import your saved overview settings. Not to mention the little quirks you'll find along the way that you never noticed anymore because you had fixed them 3 or 4 years ago... Like where your cargo hold opens on your screen in your ships. Or even some of the tutorial windows popping up at the wrong time. I'm sure the next time I traverse lowsec I'll get a warning message again as well...

PS: My Rig owns yours:

Windows XP Pro
Intel Pentium 4
2 gig ram
HD Radeon 4600 series

IDK how EVE even runs on my computer to be honest.
