You do not get a Neural Remap once a year.

You get a neural remap one year after you used your last.

So say you have one left, and you use it the 364th day that means you can wait another 365 days before you get your next.

CCP, what a bunch of fake sauce.

Eh yeh, obviously, why create a topic about it? You also start with 2 remaps now, so...

I think the premise is that your brain can't tolerate the remap more than once a year. The exception is when they've made skill changes that affected mapping, in which case everyone got one for free. That break from lore was necessary so they didn't screw things up for people with long-term plans.

You might of picked it as the give away item that CCP gave out, you could pick a load of different thinks from Fuel Blocks, some blueprints or a remap. majority of people went for the free "useless" remap because ya know... its "useless"

Rules for Neural Remapping

Each new pilot starts with two free neural remaps that may be used at any time of the pilot's choosing. Once these two remaps have been used, the new pilot no longer has a virgin mind and is kept to the same remap time restriction as all other pilots.
For all pilots who have used their two initial free remaps, neural remapping may be done once a year.
Each attribute cannot have more than 15 base points. This means that any given attribute will have a maximum value of 30 if the best implants available are used.
The neural remap request cannot be saved until all the attribute points have been assigned.
The neural remapping tool automatically keeps four attribute points assigned to each attribute. These are displayed in white. Each attribute requires one assignable attribute point remain with each attribute. This is displayed in green and cannot be removed from the attributes.

Weird i created a new character the other day and i was given only 2! I think the bonus one only applied to those active when the bonus was given out?

It should say "Neutral remap available: Now" and "Bonus remaps available: 2".

First line refers to yearly remap, so if you now remap you only use yearly remap and leave 2 bonus remaps left. So effectively you have 3 remaps at the beginning.

Hmm must check this when i get home, i remapped that char last night and fairly sure it only said 2! plus the description of neural remapping i posted above says 2! obviously hope im wrong!

If character got that gift, then it is additional bonus remap.

e.g. My alt has currently 4 remaps available: yearly remap + 3 bonus remaps (2 normal + christmas gift)

Yes, yes it is.

Is it possible to have fewer than 1 per year? Again, yes, but it's entirely your choice to make it that way.
