If you want to see some, you need to go to lowsec or 0.0. There you can watch them bumping their Zearots into carriers. When you see any Nagas aka tier3 Caldari BC glowing in the dark due to activated Radioisotope Explosive Hardeners I, that's them too.

I've met them on the markets and in their non-help language chat.

They would most all be rookies in these first few days. Rookies to Eve; obviously they have some serious gamers.

I've been seeing ship names with kana in them pretty regularly since I left null. If the japanese players aren't in the help channel CCP made for them, odds are it's because they have their own community channels.

Confirming that they've been around for a long time, and that you generally can't tell who they are. I can remember fighting a japanese pirate corp years ago now in navula for example. However, there aren't that many of them afaik.
