I would also guess that more people will be converting GTCs to PLEX as ship prices have gone way up and income from missions/incursions is about to go down.

Except that as mineral inflation continues to drive the prices on everything else higher, the minimum in-game price a PLEX purchaser is willing to accept also rises.

When PLEX prices were 350M you could also buy most ships for approximately half their current cost.

That GFX card for 20x Plex was an evil trick by CCP to even make more money by selling overpriced Gfx cards and remove 2000 Plex from the game.

Now nearly every Plex ingame seems vanished and players who have to extend their account are forced to buy one from CCP instead from ingame. Double win for CCP Roll

The graphics card they are offering (limited numbers btw) is a low end gaming card. For many players it would be a downgrade.

Others for which this card would be an upgrade will have old gen CPUs which will be a bottleneck. Again reducing the market.

So that leaves people that want to SLI or build a new budget PC. How many of these people will have 20 PLEX to spend on this?

Im guessing they wont sell nearly enough cards to account for the trillions of isk they are wiping from the economy. Not to mention all the cancelled/banned botting accounts that will no longer require PLEX. Oh and the nerf to incursion payouts.

Good luck selling you inventory before the market collapses.

For some of us it is a big upgrade, this card costs close to 3/4 of my monthly salary where i live

Don't forget that this is a legit method to get RL money for your ISK.

I'm still expecting PLEX prices to drop after those who can and want to buy the GPUs do so. I think the market for the cards is very limited. Could be wrong though.

I expect that too. My guess is there are quite some PLEX in accounts which don't get converted because there are not enough gfx card. They will be dumped on the market tomorrow.

Will it drop back down right under 500m though? That was a very important psychological barrier that just got crushed by this promotion.

I predict that you will continue to predict the very, very obvious and pass it off as prophecy. P

Bought two at 505. Was going to sell at peak (whatever it may be). Saw a 15M drop and sold one to offset possible loss.

Plexes are now solidly above 500m/unit.

Just thought I'd put that here so that our OP can continue to look silly.

The only reasonable way PLEX prices could see a noteworthy decrease is massive deflation. Even in this "worst case" the ISKs you get out of them would still have a higher or at least the same buying power as they have right now.

If you want to compare PLEX to RL gold, in game a PLEX is even better than gold. It is like gold that you can eat when push comes to shove. They are for sure the most solid way to store ISK and it is very unlikely that the price goes down anytime soon on an item that can't lose its value.
