So basically you read my thread, made up an unrelated story loosely related to my post, and then based your response off of the imaginary story you created. Congratulations to you sir

More accurately - I read your bad post. Then trolled you, for trying to dictate how the presenters should behave and now I'm having a laugh at you trying to spin your control tendencies as me being wrong. It is hilarious. Excuse me while I go pour a drink. And damn, it's only 11am.

It should be a dry event.

With rubber faced Sony executives monitoring their CCP underlings.

Just make sure everyone stays on message.

Well, I can tell most of you have never held any real positions of responsibility in your lives

There is a difference between a position of responsibility and attending a social function where you can relax and enjoy yourself in the manner you choose. Even Microsoft Teched has a party, good times and fun for all. Our office has regular social events, drinks in the office after 4pm and a "whatever goes" policy. We, with a small team, manage to support large corporates, run efficiently and have fun doing so.

You need to lighten up and realise that everyone is not like you, nor do they want to be and nor should they be.

Yes, every workplace does social events like that. Does your office regularly stream all of their events for the world to witness and judge you upon?

Anybody who has ever been to a PAX afterparty with CCP knows that they party hard enough to make the Goons blush.

The day CCP becomes truly 'corporate' is the day EVE dies.

Nobody would be interested in watching a bunch of business analysts, business intelligence consultants, developers and such like drink. Or maybe somebody would. I've not considered the options on streaming it for money and advertising. Do you think there is an opportunity there?

I mean, I paid a PLEX for the HD stream to Fanfest. Would you pay a PLEX to watch me enjoy my job and company of my peers and perhaps learn a little bit about what we do?

Alcohol doesn't get people drunk. People get people drunk by choosing to imbibe alcohol.

As evidenced by this thread, the average EVE player has the maturity of a 16 year old

That's OK, we'll wait for you to mature and be able to make decisions for yourself. Cool

Can we at least limit Michael Bolton to one stage appearance next year?

Fanfest has been doing great since forever and it always has been a alcohol fest, just because someone now uses it as an excuse for messing up doesn't change any of that.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Ah, really not pinning it on Mittani at all, I just felt 80% of the player presentations were worthless

I've worked in bars. It is my legal responsability to turn round and refuse service to anyone I think is too drunk. If I did not then both myself and the bar I work for could be held liable for any injury the drinker causes to themselves or other people.

Should they sto palchol? Nope. Should they show alittle more responsability and limit it? Possibly but it is not a decision to take hastilly.

I am sure the blame on booze will come mostly from the USA.

Here we are told if you have a beer or two a day, you are an alcholic.

However it's perfectly normal to be on mind-altering drugs like Prozac and Ritalin.

Nothing like that prussian societal model blaming everything good for all that is bad to make a nation hard-up and bloodthirsty.
