Prospective level 5 mission fits?

Greetings.

I've been playing the game for a rather short while, running missions and stuff amongst other stuff. What I've seen today when running the agent finder is that I can do level 5s. Now from what I read lurking on the forums, there is a passive fit tank needed. Or friends. I would try though the stuffs on SiSi first, so let's say 1 logi, 1 DPS and 1 tank. What fits would be appropiate? Do the NPCs attack the logi/DPS (like the sleepers do), or they just concentrate on the first guy that warps in and pokes them with a gun? What would be the appropriate buffer needed? Would a tanky battlecruiser be enough (as in an all tanky drake sporting maybe command links instead of missiles, for instance <- if this idea is stupid please feel free to poke me in the eye)? Supposed there is also a basi available. Or 2 battleships with shield transfers...

The sheer number of possibilities is just insane.

How would you do it? Yes, I could post battleclinic fits, but that's not what I had in mind, as working up from those I can do myself.

Edit: can fly Amarr and Caldari, have more than decent shield/armor skills, elite certificate for fitting.

Thank you.

You need about 2000+ (Sometimes 2200+) Complete Passive Tank (There are neuts that will cap caps dry) for Solo.

In a group, you need 2000+ Tank, but it can be active if you recieve enough cap from a Logi

L5's are just like L4's but with more ships and stuff to shoot. As long as you grab agro they don't switch (unless they do in that mission but I can't think of any missions that do)

If I stare at the door long enough, maybe, just maybe, it'll open

The missions are varied but almost all of them include multiple spawns / triggers which often agress logi. There is also often heavy neutralising in each mission. There are many ways of tackling them depending on the mission. The NPCs behave like standard NPCs so they rarely change aggression once it is established.

In direct answer to your question if you have a dedicated logistic ship there is no reason to have a 'tank' you should just have 2 DPS ships that both have reasonable resists. Yes the drake is easily capable of soaking damage from a L5 with logistic support and gang links might not be a bad idea, but in reality you'll probably just want more gank, the DPS from 1 battleship is enough for L5s but it sure isn't quick

A tactic I have used is an active tanked maelstrom with a lot of gank, being fed cap from my alt in an augoror, This give me enough cap to run my tank perma and overcoming the neut sentrys. You will need about 2000 dps tank for most missions, obviously there are ways of mitigating some of this. This isn't ideal due to only about 900 dps so missions do take some time but its the best I could come up with for 'solo' L5 running.

Another tactic used is a passive shield tank (no cap use) this is sometimes augmented with either a battleship fielding a shield transfer or a dedicated logistics ship.

For a team of 3 I think your best bet would be 3 battleships spider tanking, dominix works well for this and you should easily be able to get a good amount of DPS and a good amount of tank from the spider. If I ran a group of 3 domis I'd go. I know you said amarr but its not a huge train, you might be able to do something similar with geddons if you didn't want to train up gallente BS

High - Energy transfers (to produce cap) and RR
Mids - tracking links (for sentries), maybe web / TP
Lows - Resist
Drones - sentry and some lights / med for cleaning up

Of course for the ungated missions carriers are an option if you pay attention and know what you are doing. The can easily be fit for enough recharge to overcome the neuting and their large damage output gives a good rate of isk/hr. If you do not take proper precautions you will find yourself losing them fairly often though.

You suggested Dominix as in using drones for DPS and the high slots only for Cap Xfers/RR? Sounds interesting and I`ll look into it. Kind of skill intensive, though, as I suppose sentries would be the most efficient in L5's due to the abundance of battleship class targets.

I thought at an "inexpensive" "shield fleet" RR stuff, let me know of your thoughts:
[Raven, Raven, RR L5]

6x Cruise Missile Launcher II
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large 'Regard' I Power Projector

Heavy Capacitor Booster II (Cap Booster 800)
3x Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
2x Invulnerability Field II

4x Ballistic Control System II
Damage Control II

Large Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Large Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst I

What I don't like about this fit:
- cruise equipped; so basically it'll need drones for frigates/cruisers; could swap resist rigs for rigors or flares;
- needs a CPU implant;
- cap stability too dependant on each character's RR/cap xfer-related skills; if one caps out, everybody caps out;
- not sure if 1-2 RR will cope with the tank needed; large buffer VS resists?

Thank you for your answers so far.

Also. Guns or missiles? Would RR WH fitted tengus work? As far as I read mission reports, there is heavy webbing going on in there, so basically it's a little "meh".
