What are the major selling points of each. TBQH both look pretty lacking and ******. Why do we need 2?

Couple dozen random page clicks later, the wiki.eveonline.com one seems like its 75% loaded with silly in-character RP drivel. This needs to change immediately. IMHO every article should contain an OOC entry by default, and an IC one if necessary or someone really wants to splerg one out.

~Grin~
While I don't roleplay in EVE, I love to watch people froth at the mouth when confronted with its roleplayers...
In an internet spreadsheet, er, spaceship game that doesn't even use Newtonian physics. ;)

Anyhow --
IT IS A WIKI.
A lot of the growth is player-made.

What's that mean?
You want 50% OOC articles?
YOU CAN DO EEEEET -- if you start writing now, YOU can make the difference!
And, as a fellow player, I am always glad to see someone like you who wants to be part of the solution. ^_^

I am literally already doing so.

I don't see what's wrong with a healthy vile hatred of roleplaying. As far as I'm concerned Eve's 8-year long history is "fluffy" and interesting enough by far that I don't need some ****** neckbeards ruining everything with their weak-ass storytelling abilities.

Excellent!

And there is nothing wrong with your hatred of roleplayers --
It just brings me the lulz, and I always need moar. ^_^

Evelopedia contains a lot more valid information in it than what you think you saw. I know for a fact that it isn't 75% Role Playing stuff. All Orange/Yellow text is a link to another existing created page. All Red text is an uncreated page.

Try starting with this page: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Guides

Down at the bottom of the links listed on that page is 'Other useful Guides', clicking that will take you further into it. After entering that page, you'll see (previous 200) (next 200) listed near the top and at the bottom of the page. Clicking the (next 200) will take you to the 2nd half of that listing.

In the top right corner of each page is a 'search' option. Type in something such as PvP and press enter on your keyboard or click the little 'Magnifying Glass' icon located in the search option text box. After entering that page, down at the bottom left corner is 'Categories: PVP | Glossary | Stubs'. Click on the PVP to take you to a list of all Pages in category "PVP".

Basically you can look up all kinds of stuff in it just by using the search option. Everything from Eve Lore to Mission Reports, various info guides as well as Technical info pertaining to POS, FW, CSM, etc. On the left side of the Evelopedia are some drop down menus such as 'Item Database'. Clicking that will open sub menus that are set up like the Market interface.

Anyway, it'll take a little time to learn how to navigate the Evelopedia but after a while you'll have no problems.

As for the EveWiki, it works similar except the text link is Blue/Purple text. After clicking on a link and then backing up to the previous page, the already clicked text link will shows as Red/Purple text. The search option is located on the left side of the page. The EveWiki mainly contains older material but some of it's pages have been updated with current info.

Basically I have both Wiki's bookmarked in my browser and will refer to both of them when referencing info. If no info avail, then I check Goggle.

I hope this was helpful and good luck.

Sir I know what Wikis are and how they work. I was asking what the primary difference was between eve-wiki and evelopedia and I got my answer -- eve-wiki is smaller, less frequently updated, out of date and generally inferior.

Oh really, sorry to offend you with my overly detailed post. However, this posted reply by you implies differently.

Anyway,

How does that in any way imply differently? I'm speaking about the content of the articles I've seen, the majority of which are written in mostly in-character fashion as opposed to an "out of character" or actual player's perspective, which is what I'm interested in. This has nothing to do with how a Wiki works.

Anyway doesn't really matter, I appreciate you taking the time and effort to explain it even though it wasn't necessary. :)
