quote=Pinky Feldman]As a primarily highsec PVP alliance, we have become greatly disturbed by Goonswarm's recent threats to cause Jita to burn...[/quote]

I think your opinion is a nice one in the right direction. Thinking further on your idea and looking on long term, it wouldn't be bad to broaden the ideas.

It might sound silly, but the miners, who our nowadays seen as a bunch of worthless players, can make a difference in high sec (and maybe even in low sec).

Think of following:

Every miner uses an alt character of his account to join a newly started corportion (or an alliance.. in fact a mining syndicate, whatever the name) with a clear charter:
- the corp has as mission defending the rights and the sovereignity of high sec players
- the corp has respect for EVERY player (we won't see another player like a worthless worm or are we as silly as others?)
- the corp has respect for privacy (no publication of private chats... some don't have problems with that, looking at topics in this forum and looking at certain presentations in certain events.... I DO !!!!!*)
- ganking and events as Hulkageddon will result in consequences
It is an event to give the brainless a little bonus to have in the end a good profit (who owns the original covetor blueprints you think)
Maybe we cann't act against a whole hurdle, but afterwards we can take a look at them ... one by one
Do we have to care about standings or whatever ? NO.... it is an alt character :)
- putting price settings of ORE (mine barges go killed -> prices of ORE go up) ... those who go to low, go for problems
Do we have to care about standings or whatever ? NO.... it is an alt character :)
- etc

* I did write the idea about respect for privacy because it bothers me for days : How would one feel seeing his/her conversation put in public with a bunch of brainless morrons (I did see the video, I did see there stupid laughs and I don't have a better name for it, no matter there age, no matter what the realised or achieved in the eve community) just making fun of it ? One can say it is the presenter his responsability and fault, but what about the reviewers of the presentation (couldn't they have warned for possible consequences of the literal quotes from private messaging) and what about the others in the room who hadn't the brains or the guts to take a stand ? No one did anything.
After what had happened everyone, afraid of burning the fingers pulled away the hands with "I din't do it, I didn't know it, I got nothing to do with it".... well ... let's call it modern bravery What?
That said I have to add an important note( and then I'm almost gonna shut up, cause I'm a worthles miner): it is NOT a problem of Eve community, it is NOT a problem of gaming community, it is worse: it is a problem of our selfish society, which doesn't care about feelings and dignity, it's only about achievements and glory, even if its at cost of others... (almost) no one cares..... that is why Jita has to burn, that's why there shall be a Hulkageddon again and again.

We as miners can show we are not indifferent to others, but we can do this only when we ALL stand together. That can only be done if we get organised and I'm gratefulll to Pinky Feldman to get a start in getting organised

BTW... I'll be there at 28-29

I know Goons are just a bunch of immature little ***** who can't utter a sentence without dribbling out the word pubbie. And, of course, the cherry atop the Goons **** sundae is their sad, nasty, geek leader.

HOWEVER...

It would appear they've organised an event that promises to engage a whole range of players in a form of PVP that they otherwise would not normally partake in.

Regardless of the Goons' real intentions, this has to be a good thing for the game.

So Goons, please continue to be the tools of Eve. The mob is assembling because, deep down, we all still enjoy a good, old-fashioned evil-geek-bashing. And you guys fit the bill perfectly.

See you on the 28th!

Mr. Nutmeg, I agree completely with all of your points.

I might even leave station for something other than moving goods or materials.

Whether you're for or against it, there's one truth here: people will show up to play a game together. I know this may seem altruistic, and you trolls will jump all over me for it, but think about this:

1. If you're 'Pro-Goon', you should be encouraging this action (as some already are), because it'll present you with more targets, and maybe even a little sport.

2. If you're 'Anti-Goon', you should be supporting this, as well. Here's your chance to get in a few jabs at a very low cost.

3. If you're an industrialist, you have a chance to participate in pvp--whether directly by flying in the local fight or indirectly by supplying ships and armaments for those that are.

4. If you're a carebear that may be interested in pvp, well...here you go. Hop in a cheap frig, outfit it with some basic tackle modules, and throw yourself at the invaders.

Seriously, the huge fleet battles of yore are rare nowadays. We aren't seeing the battle reports like we used to. This is NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT, FUN, however you want to refer to it. At the end of the day, if Pinky's 'Save Jita' initiative gets a few dozen/hundred carebears to hop into pvp and 'put up a fight', it'll speak VOLUMES MORE about the EVE community than either the 'Jita Burns' or recent Mittens drama...simply because more than one group is ACTIVELY participating in the event.

Couldnt have said it any better. I quit reading this post after this. Oh email me I have fully fitted Noctis's for sale, you will need them for all the wrecks that will be left behind.

Lol would be funny if goons dec every corp and alliance residing in jita. Seems to be their only other option beside suicide ganking every one.

This thread should be telling all players to boycott jita on that day instead of edging them to fight back. You don't need to. Goons can bring 8000people and still get butt ****** by concord. Don't go to jita that day stay away, cuz if you go that's exactly what goons want you to do, why? Cuz it get them more kills for them.

Edit. Oh if you want to hurt them. Fly ships that are cheaper than their suicid ships. They loose more isk that way.

What would be even more interesting would be if carebears left the trade hubs alone, and headed out in their blaster fleets to gank the gankers sitting on gates. Good times. Lol

"Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."

Closing your eyes won't make the problem go away. This isn't just about saving Jita, its about showing groups that there are people in hisec willing to fight back against anti-hisec player events. I'm sure there were lots of people who thought that as long as they didn't mine during Hulkageddon, it didn't affect them and it would just go away. Now we are onto what? Hulkageddon V?

So just avoid major trade hubs on the 28th. Act like this doesn't affect you at all, but don't complain when the next Burn Jita event happens, don't complain when a new player event happens that actually does get you killed or does start affecting your gameplay.

Hisec might not actually have its own sovereignty like nullsec, but it does have a psychological sovereignty in the form of what people think we're willing to take before we fight back.

Confirming that we are burning Jita because it is profitable.

Also, I like how people think that we're only going to be at this for a day.

I've reversed my opinion on this:

  • CONCORD polices highsec. I'm not doing their job for them.

  • CONCORD will destroy my ship for helping them. I have a rule about not helping anyone who will punish me for it.

  • This is between CCP and Goonswarm. I'll make some popcorn and let em fight it out for my entertainment.

  • I will not feed the Goons' killboards. Period.

Just curious, but what about the old saying while the cat's away the mice will play. Is there any fear of a logistical attack on yours and Tests assets and systems while you fullfill your goal?

We're counting on it. What's even better than Jita burning? A bunch of rats bringing very expensive stuff out of Jita to alternate trade hubs so we can purge them as they try to flee.

What if they do it before the burning and just switch hubs till the coast is clear? Surely with such an advanced warning people will have xfered most of their assets or are prepared to ride out the burning. >.>

Ah, but you fail to see the point. Jita is a symbol of Highsec. It is the "beating heart" of Highsec, to quote Dear Leader. It's not entirely about griefing, or about the destruction of in game assets and the like -- although rest assured, we will be mocking anyone who gets upset and posting a running tally of how much damage we're causing.

It's about heading over to the heart of highsec, and stabbing a rusty knife into it. Repeatedly.

When Goonswarm shuts down Jita in 2 weeks for however many days or weeks we decide to do so, it won't be just "some Goons doing a gatecamp." It will be a bunch of Goons symbolically burning Highsec to the ground.

Jita is not just the biggest market hub in the game. To many players it's "safe." Safest place in the game, right? Jita, the market sector? Worst thing you have to worry about is getting scammed, outside of a rare suicide gank or random wardec. You don't have to worry about getting PKed in Highsec, yet alone Jita of all places, for christ's sake.

... And we Goons are looking forward to proving everyone wrong about that.

Ah does anyone remember what came before jita and why jita is now the main hub. Would love some backstory on the system and how it came to be.

Not to try and downplay what you guys are doing or steal your thunder because getting this organized is probably a logistical pain and shows some intense teamwork going on, but from a logical standpoint most highsec dwellers/profiteers will simply shift assets to another system and go where the money is. Why shouldn't they?

Sure it might take a while but blockading a system that people are willing to abbandon or simply avoid till your done really seems like a wasted effort. I mean sure you are locking down the biggest trade hub in the game but what for what real reason it has no real value to most players.

Sure your showing everyone that nowhere in eve is safe but at what cost to the logistical integrity or you and your allies systems. Wouldn't your enemys be poised to stike at you while your are fullfilling your promise to shutddown the system. I am not trying to judge you guys or throw stones at your points, but this whole event seems illogical. It just seems like your tearing down a super walmart while your home is being burned down by your neighbor only to see another super walmart being built at the same time.

I think there was a map change allowing traders to monitor the market in 5 regions with one jump out of jita.

Think this will be a great event. Good effort GSF. Although saying it's going to "burn" sounds odd.
